rear calipers

hi,

so i got a busted rear caliper. the handbrake actuating arm on it is screwed and will lock up if i use the hand brake too much.

it's covered under warranty and costs a whoping 400$ for the rea caliper.. i had the car for about a 2 weeks now and i've been told by a mecanic at the dealer that the brakes are sorta unique on the car and no other calipers from other mazda will fit.. making them hard to find after market.

is this true?

it's cool for now since it's under warranty but if it wasn't i'd be paying this..

no aftermarket places like autozon or NAPA makes some??

I thought the MSP rear brakes were the same as the RX-7's

the next closest car that uses the same rear brake is over in europe.

give ken at protegegarage.com a call, he should be able to hook you up. he has rear kits (caliper, rotor, pads) for about $450-500 - so just the calipers should be less.
