re: Spray Paint on Car

I have an idea to fix it. Sell the Jetta and buy a Mazda (rockon)

Ha-ah In all seriousness I have used clay and then the other stuff for the remaining items. If you don't drench the car and clean it after you'll be good to go.

Yeah a good thing that the actual can didnt hit the car though so i guess thats a plus.

Thats what I said!

it looks luch worse then the pics show!
did not take pics of the windshield, mirrors or roof!

I was out last night. Going to see a guy at lunch who does lots of body work and painting for Volkswagon's.

see what he says and maybe work on it tonight!

lacquer thinner does a good job for the chrome and panels. simple green and steel wool for the windshield...........

will be a fun friday night in Holden!

spent maybe an hour getting 95% of the paint off. now all i have to do is get all the areas in the cracks and tight spaces.........

came off pretty east and then gave the cr a quick wash to get all excess thinner off........

maybe i'll finish tomorrow?

steel wool on the windshield??? no....get a glass scraper....it uses a razor blade but is long ways

(dark) following me? lol

if i'm following you, then i have the ax AH HA

i sure hope he didn't try to take steel wool to the window, and that he reads this in time....his wife will kill him after he 'buffs' the window.....that or he'll be on the couch for awhile

"Fine" Steel wool os fine on windows.....There is different grades and Body shops and painters alike have used it for years on glass to remove overspray.

Silly Children.

Was going to say the same thing. I use different courses of steel wool to polish many things, including glass and metal. Dang lurkers. ;)

well, finished waxing the whole car a little while ago!

spent almost 90 mins friday, 60 mins this AM and then maybe 70 mins tonight taking this crap off.

i am amazed on how much had spread down both sides of the car, too!

i got almost everything off; sure some of us car forum people will pick up areas that were missed/dificult to get :)
