RB Tip????

I was hoping to order the RB cat back for my P5 soon.

Only problem is:

I am not too sure what the tip will look like. I found multiple pictures on the forum that look different. Some have the "double tip" that is similar to the stock tip - essentially a thin metal pipe with the thicker RB tip wrapped around it. Others do not have this thin tip and only have the RB tip - a much cleaner look that is much more after-market looking.

What should I expect the tip to look like? If it comes with that inner metal pipe, is it possible to remove it so I just have the outer pipe for a cleaner look?

It'll be like the 1st and 3rd ones in your pic.

Actually, it's a better design because the "inner" pipe actually handles the exhaust and the tip isn't affected as much by the heat and carbon build up. That means that the tip will last longer and look better in the long run.

Personally, I don't care about looking "aftermarket" and sick of the coffee-can look. I'm more go than show and every little bit that doesn't show it (i.e. "sleeper" look) has brownie points in my book.

You can possibly fit a long shank on a Dremel/rotary tool with a smallish cut-off wheel into the ID of that "inner" pipe and cut it from the inside out.

But hey, to each their own.

Mine's also like the 1st and 3rd pic. It looks plenty aftermarket...it also has the advantage of not looking like every single other aftermarket exhaust out there.

it doesnt even look like the 2nd pic says RB on it....could be the glare though. mine looks like the 1st 3rd.

racing beat changed the tip design from single wall (old design in second pic) to the double wall (new design in other two pics) and changed the logo from driver's left to driver's right. they only have the double wall now.

Another question: When it comes in, what comes with it?

I know for sure three exhaust pieces, but:

# gaskets?
# bolts?
# nuts?
Anything else?

if i remember correctly its three pieces of pipe including the muffler and some gaskets. i think i re-used the stock bolts/nuts. hardest part of installation was getting off the stock hanger(make sure you have more silicone than what i did). I only had ramps to do this job but i had a friend help and nothing beats an extra set of hands to hold things in place.

Yeah, a friend of mine (who's a mechanic) is gonna help me out with the install. he said that hangars are really easy and he's replaced muffleers in about ten minutes. So that won't be a problem.

Does anyone know for sure if the system comes with hardware (as in bolts/nuts?

I guess it would be okay to re-use the old ones, but I was hoping for some higher-quality hardware that wont rust (not like its gonna here in NM).
