rattle diagnosed

BOOSTR

1 OWNR MSP
Found the source of my passenger side rattle. Bushing is shot only. Nothing is cracked like on other SLS failures. Same thing happened to my kartboy exhaust hangers so I guess my MSP doesn't like aftermarket urethane products. (pissed)

I'm pissed because I was about to leave on a long road trip. SLS has a replacement bushing set to resolve my issue. Energy Suspension makes the bushing not SLS. I installed both the SLS front and side mount back in April 2007.

Bushing replacement is for the newer style SLS mount. So I ordered one of those and will return the old one for a credit from SLS.

Never wanted that brand as its too harsh for my taste.

So for anyone else, don't bother posting about your AWR mounts.

It is Harsh....
SLS from what I hear is nice a feeling mount.
What about this Energy replacement?
Is it going to be hard like the AWR or is going to be more like the SLS?
It seems the softer feeling Urethane stuff on the market is what seems to fail?

It was a great mount overall. Sure it shaked, rattled and rolled at idle but nothing extreme like AWR. And it really helped to plant the tires compared to the oem.

Energy Suspensions replacement is simply replacement bushings to work with the revised and current SLS side mount. It's their new supplier of the bushing material.

Would you recommend SLS again with the revised bushings? I am in the market for motor mounts and I'm unsure I want to pay for the AWRs.

Well in my biased opinions, I'd say buy AWRs. It's worth the money. I've had mine for over 65k miles and still have'nt had any problems. It's really not as harsh as everyone says. There's a little vibration in the steering wheel, but it's better than the squeak and money you'll have to pay for all new mounts. But to that, I am very biased. I am not really willing to try any SLS products. I have only heard of them being defective/breaking/having some sort of problem.

I like the AWRs it's just hard to drop $400 right now. And only the side mounts is over 300 so the cheapest way is to buy all 4 at once.
