I working on a 2007 CX-7. 176km on vehicle. It has a random misfire detected code. I have tried checking with techhotline and they have no info on this probkem. There is supreme gas in the vehicle. I've checked the spark plugs and they are in good condition. No track marks present. Anyone with any ideas your help would be appreciated.

I had a CEL last week... came on at the coldest day the car has seen, so the dealer thought it was probably a faulty diaphram/spring thing. Turned out when they checked out the codes it was a random misfire, and they said they fixed it by applying the latest PCM flash.

So my guess would be update the PCM software.

IMRC Valve is becoming a "common" problem with the CX-7... don't know if it will throw a misfire code, but I think the code for IMRC is P2006.

Had the same problem.. My CX7 has all the current flashes. The Technician is great (I'm an old Mazda ASE guy from back during the RX2, 3, and 4 days so he's willing to talk tech and pull up all the ECM flashes on the computer so we can go over them)). He called Mazda after he drove the car with a laptop hooked up. Bad O2 sensor. They told him to unplug the O2 sensor and drive--no misfire. Granted this misfire only occurs during hard acceleration. It will also contribute to a lean surge (in case you've felt that). So, you may have a bad O2 sensor. Unplug and see if it clears the problem. Didn't ask him though if it was the upstream or downstream sensor. Also, don't leave it unplugged; just do it for troubleshooting purposes
