Radio removal

I just got a 2011 Mazda CX 9. On the 27th of January the temperature got up to 70 degrees and the inside of the car was a little warm so I turned on the AC and it did not blow cold air.

As a result of the AC being checked it was determined that the after-market entertainment package (Pioneer AVIC-X910BT with Satellite, Radio, blue tooth, Navigation, DVD player and a rear view camera) installed cause an electrical shortage to the AC. When I talked the service department on Friday 2/11/2011 they had the AC working again. I was also told that they may not be able to get an after market system installed in the car because of the way the AC is connected to harness of factory installed radio. Do anyone have a after market Navigation system in there 2011 CX9 touring?

Hello

just bought a 2010 CX-9. And i have been reviewing the posts on this forum for a bit. i do like the level of information on this forum. I am considering performing the following factory retrofits on my CX-9:

Sirius Radio - definite
Foglights - definite
DRL - researching
HID - researching
Navigation - researching (did this twice on MBENZs, one easy, the other one was a bit harder involving splicing harnesses and retrieving technical info from the MBENZ Technicians site.)

Regards

2011 Gt nav removal

I just traded in a 2010 mz3 GT with tech pack for 2011 CX9 Gt. The nav/ radio looks a little complicated, I see that several people have asked for pics of advice; however, I have found no anwsers. The Mz3 was easy removal however cx9 is more complecated a refrence to the pin layout for the amp or radio removal would be wonderful.

Cheers in advance

The hardest part will be removing the trim piece around the radio, heater AC contril, that wraps up around the speaker on yop the dash with out ruing the trim piece of the dash.

CX9 nav removal

Thanks for the heads up on the trim piece. Would anyone have a pin layout for the amp? I assume it is under the pass seat like other 2011 mazdas, but just purchased, and have not explored yet.

The nav. removal was not as hard as It looked. the two side pieces which on mine are wood grain plastic with chrome trim, use scratch free tool and lightly pry to the outward side then pull strait out. next unscrew gear shift knob, next remove the gear shift bezel it pulls strait up and has a tab in each corner. remove light cord, then remove the tray under the ac controls it has one screw on bottom left corner it pulls strait out and will set aside carefully and hang in place or you can unhook acc (cig lighter), next remove two screws on bottom and in middle of nav bezel pull strait out 2 clips on each side push in tabs and pull strait out (be carefull with part around middle dash speaker) THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP. finally remove 4 screws from front of nav and 2 from underneath. remove plugs and you are finished. it took les than 20 min to remove and reinstall. If anyone would like pics of the process I can upload them here. Not as intemidating as it looked.

I replaced mine with z120bt and dont have any issues, your installer probably tripped something, my installer also installed a new camera since the old camera he cannot pin it out it olny cost me another $50 and it does not look bad. the installer that i used installs a lot of aftermarket puoneer nav's on the cx-9 so i dont think its an issue, hope you got it resolved

What does the back of the console radio look like? What inputs are available? I am upgrading my '07 CX-9 to a '11 and am not going with the RSES.. but puttin gin my own headrest system and would like to use the aux input from the car. Aux would be the port in the center console and the dvd would be aux 2. What kind of inputs are available to me on the back of the head unit?

Thaks,
Craig
