Ractive headers??

The rep i talked to has assured me that the quality of this header will be worth the wait. I have already asked to to put some aside for me, so if you all want a gb i can get more info and try to wrestle a release date out of them.
 
Ok someone is going to make fun of me for asking this but what the hell.
What is the mid pipe? Is it the portion of pipe that contains the secondary cat and the resonator? I have already removed my secondary cat and stock resonator and installed a new resonator. Does this mean I will have trouble with the second O2 sensor placement? Where would I install the second O2 sensor? Will I get a CEL?
 
the mid pipe replaces the last 1/4 of the main stock pipe where the 2nd cat is...

this header is just like the arospeed one, and the obx one - nonexistant!

P.S. Mind you, said friend works for Ractive here in Canada, and gets things ahead of time (a local speed shop called Ractive up for me and quoted me the price - $364CDN funds). Although, he has mentioned that it is available (header alone), but they are in the process of producing some type of midpipe in order to pass emission testing here in certain provinces of Canada...
 
exactly, just like awdlax has the only obx header out there made for our cars. granted others will work with some mods, but...
 
I think the point, for myself anyway, is that a little mod work or waiting another month isnt a problem to save 100-150+ dollars.

Hell that is one of my 2 custom ground cams rigth there. almost.
 
i would rather spend the money and get the fitament perfect. dont take this personally but i think you have too many future mods. this is causing you to think in too broad of terms and try to cut corners everywhere, possibly leaving you with disappointment in the end. again, im not flaming, because i used to have a file called wishlist on my computer with all the s*** i wanted to do. eventually i deleted it because i started to think, well what if i skimped here, and skimped there. what if i just got a 3M stlye CF interior instead of the real molded s*** from DGM and saved 200 bucks? hell that is a crank pulley, or camshaft, etc etc. Then i got the product and it fit like s*** and i had a hassle sending it back to them and getting the refund. thats when i deleted all that s*** and now i just focus on one mod at a time, so its done right, looks clean, and is good quality. After all youre spending a lot of your money on this car, it should be well worth it. You shouldnt have to sacrafice just to save money. Dont get me wrong, im all about shopping around and saving money, but when it comes to quality and fitament, i would rather spend 350 bucks on the molded DGM interior as opposed to a laser cut one for 200 bucks. The camshaft can wait, my cars only 8 months old i got plenty of time.
 
actually my list of future mods is planned and spread over the next 2 yrs, so I am not in any sort of rush and will not sacrifice fitment or quality for price.

My car is 6 months old, I also have plenty of time and know it, which is why I repeatedly say when discussing mods that my plans are spread over a coupe to 3 yrs. Because I know thats how long it will take. Even when I start my new job in jan under a big pay increase I am still going to pace myself.

What I do know is if there is a header that costs what the OBX header does and is quality(because it is) and it fits Im in. It is not that I am trying to cut corners it is that I dont like spending 350 dollars on what should cost me 200-250.

So to sum it up this is not an attempt to skimp/cutcorners/whatever, it is an attempt not to get ripped off IMO, thats right my opinion. Cause I know if companies like OBX CAN make a good quality hjeader for that price the other ones SHOULD NOT cost that much, I know they do because they are more custom built and not a more mass produced style product but unfortunately we will not find alot of that for ours cars anyway. So when an opportunity like this comes I will take it.

For example
my MAIN plans for the engine are simple
custom camshafts(buy blanks and have them ground by a rpo who has been working on imports for 25 yrs)
port and polished heads(same guy)
Flywheel&clutch(stageIIclutchmasters with indigo 9lb flywheel combo from RR-racing)
unorthodox pulley(s)
and the ecu upgrade will more than likely be a unit similar to the E6k or E6x. depending ont he timing of the turbo upgrade...

Some how I dont see where I am skimping on quality for price.
 
yah im sorry if I came across rude there, I was up till 1 this morning after a 12 hour shift yesterday and my mind was fried.

Ultimately with my father watching how I do my mods I cant skimp on quality, he would kill me first =P and I appreciate that more than anyone knows.
