Racist bar signs?

Crazy white guys. Don't they know that they can't go around making sense like that. How long before Sharpton and Jackson show up. Unfortunatly when welfare comes into the conversation most minority groups will be offended. And telling them to try to improvise and/or improve the quality of there life will get you called a racist no matter how brutally true it may be.

For some reason I highly doubt Sharpton and Jackson will even make an attempt to address this, let alone visit that biker bar.

I agree with the signs. People choose not to work because it is easier for them to receive checks then actually work for them. Same goes for people who steal. Easier then to work.

The chick they interviewed sat right there in her car and made the correlation between welfare and blacks...ON HER OWN. There's nothing mentioned about race on his sign, so the people who are connecting his statements to race are likely the ones feeling guilty about milking the system and not lifting a finger to support it. If you're making a dishonest living off someone else's hard work (which is akin to stealing, by the way) then you should at least own it and remove the chip from your shoulder. I am SO sick of the race card. If everything derrogatory you see in public applies to you, do something to change your lifestyle. People who are putting the clothes on your back and the Navigator in your driveway have earned the right to b**** about it.

Word just not getting out? This guy was in the news here months ago. Anyway I like it. He says it like it is. Those getting upset are the ones offended by the truth. Truth hurts.

Regardless if the owner had malicious intent towards a certain race or not with his sign, he does make a valid point about our welfare system.

As Yashart pointed out, there are people who are on welfare for perfectly legitimant reasons. We also are all aware that welfare recipients are made up of all races.

The problem is, and I think we can all agree on this, is with the people who abuse the system regardless of their skin color or ethnic background.

This guy simply might have been trying to express his views on our over-abused welfare system, and the leeches that live off of it with no plans on ever supporting themselves. He also could have meant it in a bad way, targeting a certain demographic. We can't say that for sure.

The point I am trying to make is; let's all agree that the system sucks, is abused and taken advantage of by a lot of people. We can all agree that this needs to be fixed, right? Instead of bringing race into the equation and causing tempers to flare, why don't we discuss some ideas on fixing things? I cannot stand "racist this" and "racist that", "reverse discrimination this", etc, etc. Some people have ignorant narrow views, and we aren't going to be able to change them by saying "oh, don't be a racist". The only thing bringing race up with accomplish is pointless bickering.

We are all one race, the human race.

More whites than non-whites receive welfare payments. That is something that you never hear about in discussions like these. I would think that the typical recipient would much rather prefer to have a job and make their own way versus living at near poverty levels and collecting a welfare check. After all its not like the payments afford one a great lifestyle. But yes there are surley some recipients that just have no pride and want a free ride so to speak.

Very true. Problem is seems like most people would rather take the easy way out and call him a racist and make him stop rather than looking at the problem and trying to help fix it.

i support the sign... i agree with him... nothing racist was mentioned, not demographics, religions, language barriers, etc etc... i think the guys spot on...

I KNEW it was going to be somewhere in Texas...lol.....anywho

(iagree)

A drug test for welfare isn't a bad idea at all and I aslo think welfare should have a time limit. Nobody needs to live on welfare for 4+ years, unless they are completely handicap or disabled.

that will never happen though. People on welfare vote to, and no one would vote to ungive themselves money. also, every statement they made are valid concerns for tax payers. "if you cant feed them dont have them" - thats a statement that pertains to EVERYONE. if you cannot support a child, dont have it. And the illegal immigrant comments, ok, maybe not so pc, but they are ILLEGAL immigrants. i know that most of our ancestors were immigrants, and i also know that most of our ancestors were legal immigrants, as that bar owners probably were. Its a valid concern. communities simply cannot afford to offer services to those that dont pay taxes. its not feasible to say "omg blah blah thats not nice blah blah blah" cities/towns/counties/states/the country relies on tax money to provide you basic services, like the water you drinks infrastructure, roads, schools, etc etc etc. you may not agree with how he says it, but his messages are sound. and he has every right to say it

Well I live in Alberta - about as redneck as you get - and I saw nothing wrong with the signs at all.

At least you don't have a problem with letting any immagant into the damn country as a "refugee" and letting them use the healthcare and welfare that I pay for in my taxes, and they take all of our jobs too... That's the gay thing about Canada, we're too "caring" or whatever you call it. It's a goddamn free lunch here for FAR to many people...
