I paid $290 for the header and downpipe and $150 for the labor. I noticed that my car started pulling to the side when launched in first. It feels like the torque steer I felt on the Mazdaspeed test drive. I'm gonna get it dynoed next week. The whole combo, AEM SRI, header anf Ractive exhaust should add about 20 extra HP to the wheels, but I'll let you know when I get the dyno chart.

Looks good. Can't wait to see the dyno chart. How did you have to modify it. Just the bung for the O2??

Thanks, RIshie

Can you please post a link to the site where you got those headers?

Also, don't forget to post the Dyno readings:D

Don't even bother posting a dyno run, unless you have a baseline. No one on this site believes anyone anyways. Including their own mothers. Too much skeptimism and not enough appreciation. Except for me and a few others like JoeP and Perfworks. I am glad to see the rise in protege following and constant improvements being made to improve. Good work with the header and downpipe.

Are the AWR and racingmazda.com headers emission legal? I know the AWR replaces the front cat..but...are they worth getting?

Yes it is. Like I said before, the header is an MX-6 header that needs to be modified. The flange size is exactly the same as the PR5.

I'm shopping for headers Surf, what modification needs to be done for the install? I'll probably do it myself with a help from my mechanic friend?

The only modification is to move the EGR connector like 4 inches up. As you can see in the pics there is an EGR connector below the coonection but that one was welded shut.

yeah...I don't think i want to do any welding...maybe I'll find another type header that will fit good.
