Racing Beat Springs (MSP) Installed on Protege5

Handling has improved, but the car in now un-even" The rear dropped 1", while the front dropped only a 1/4":wtf:

I'll take some pictures Tuesday for you guys to see.

I'm thinking of cutting 1 round to make it evan with the rear, should I?

NO!!!!. The rear fender sits down on most springs, that is just the way it is. Mine sits further down on the back then the front and I have eibachs, that is just the way these cars are. Please do not ruin your springs.

Thanks for the advise on the springs, but I really hate the look of my P5 right now! It really bothers me a lot! What is going to happen if I cut the springs? Why ruin?

GXL, i have nothing to back up what i'm about to say..but just from common sense, i believe if you cut the spring, the lower part of where the spring is suppose to sit evenly, will no longer have a place to sit evenly. A Spring is made shorter for a lower look, but at the same time the last coil of a spring must be evenly flat for it to sit on where it's going to be mounted to flat. IF not, then it may shift around and wobble. It just won't ride right and it will make a lot of annoying broken like sound.

It will probably affect the spring compression rate as well...
Again, nothing to prove this to you, but this is just my common sense speaking.

LE, thanks for the advise.

The top of the spring have a flat part to sit on, but not the lower part. It looks like they were just cut at the very end, no flat part at all. But it sits nicely at the bottom of the strut, no problems whatsoever.

I'm totally against cutting springs, never have, but the un-even look my car has now is very bad - I hate it with a passion!

Should I buy a set of Skunk2's and sell the RB's? The installation was SO easy, I wouldn't mind doing it all over again - specially if I'm going to be completely satisfied at the end.

get a set of Eibach's.....if you look at a STOCK P5 you will notice that the fender gap is NOT the same front and back....the Eibach springs take that into account and drop one more then the other so that you end up with an even ride and virturally the same fender gap front and rear. the drop is about 1.5 to 2 inches once it all settles....I did mine...and love it.
