Qwik6's 2001 Corvette

new pics! I raised the rear up about 3/8" and put on a glass roof top. The tires had 42psi in them. Dropped them down to 32. that along with raising the rear and it rides great.

Gorgeous car man. I also have a V8 and there is nothing like that Torque that it offers! I wish i could have seen your 6 in person.

Welcome to the lsx bretheren. Lol. Man that car looks sick after all the changes you made. I LOVE those wheels. I was wanting something similar on my SS but Ijust cant drop the coin right now.

Now for some legit pics. Took the vette out to my secret location where I always took the 6.

AES racing forged 390ci, twin turbochargers, and a set of balls. The base plan for any real lsx vehicle lol.

Nah. Its plenty fast for now. I need to get it running right. And according to most guys on the vette forums they seem to think my aftermarket MAF thats on the car is causing the issues. They said it needs a good tune as well since the last owner apparently didnt use a good tuner cuz there is a hole drilled in the throttle plate. Half throttle in this car feels as fast as the speed6 ever was. Now press it to the floor and you have to hold on.

I checked the clutch fluid and the brake fluid. Both were black. the clutch fluid was rediculous. I was having problems with the clutch getting real soft and staying to the floor when running through the gears near redline. Clutch fluid was so dirty that there was a black sludge build up inside of the resevoir. So after after sucking the old fluid out and cleaning the insides. I put in new fluid and pumped the clutch 30 times. I repeated this process until the fluid was clear. Which was about 6 times. I sucked all of the black brake fluid out for now and replaced it with some fresh fluid until I go buy the speed bleeders to bleed the brakes. I havent drove the car yet but the clutch pedal now feels a lot different. Feels more like the speed6 pedal as apposed to stiff all the way to the floor.

Eww... I can't say in good conscience that that kit looks good. The rear bumper... maybe. It's a C5 dude, don't try to kit it into a C6.

Otherwise the car is looking pretty good. Not a fan of C5s really... but yours does look about as good as they come.

At the end of the day its my car. So I will do what I like. I won't go with this kit tho. I just thought it looked cool.

haha. One guy on the forums just pasted an old thread of his from 2 months back where he was having issues with it. I'll pass on that one. Plus I dont like the fixed roof on the zo6.

Forgot to mention some mods I did.

I just got the vararam intake system with the powerduct. I am moving the MAF up close to the throttle body instead of down near the radiator.
Just got the MSD 8.5mm spark plug wires yesterday. Also got speed bleeders for when I go to bleed the brake fluid.
I got 3d corvette lettering for the rear bumper in black. I also got a white sphere shift knob with the 6 speed engravement. Matches the gauges perfectly.
Also just won a bid on ebay for a C6 shifter and a zo6 shift boot. This should improve the shift feel without going short shift on this car which is way to close.
I ordered a 6000k HID kit for the stock housings. I am about to order some piaa plasma ion yellow fogs. Pretty much the same setup I had on the speed.
Once I install the intake and buy a new MAF I can finally take it to the guy to have it tuned.
Oh, and I also purchased the outsides on the lower front spoiler. The last owner had these off for some reason.
Now I am just looking for a good catback exhaust that has some growl to it. Right now the vette doesnt sound like it has any balls.

Nice, I've always been a fan of C5. Glad to see yours coming along nicely.

The kit isn't bad, I'm not a fan of the fenders and the top part of the bumper, the but opening and hood look good. Hopefully the fitment is just off on his, the right side of the hood doesn't match up with the light.

I want my bosses c5 z06

cant wait to see the results after a tune. u should be somewhere around 400. my brother made 375 with his lq4 camaro, he had a very aggressive street cam. i think alot more power coulda been had but they shop that tuned it is kinda shady. which i dont get because they produce some of the fastest ls motors in the world there and u wouldnt think they half ass tunes all the time but they dooo.
