quick question...

I'm waiting on the camera, and now some sunlight...It's gonna have to wait till Friday after work...they are coming though, I promise...

They are from a P5. I don't know if they were listed as fitting the MP3 though. The box just says 2002+ Mazda Protege. Hey, I have a Mazda Protege, right??. They fit, thats all I gotta say...
The part number is 517-10-1770

sick drop. i don't care what anyone says...the speed is not lowered. i was parked yesterday next to a protege es and the difference might be 1/2 an inch. (going by the wheel gap). I drove a lowered Integra prior (Neuspeed sport springs with Tokico shocks) and the handling was fantastic. The only problems were:

1. the car was a friggin snow plow in the winter
2. i scraped over everything, no matter how careful i was
3. I didn't have a camber kit so my inside tire wear was insane.

Question, what did you do about the aliignment? Is camber adjustable on the Speed or do you need a camber kit ?

I'd love to lower my Speed, but i don't want to deal with the tire wear issue again if the camber can't be fixed, let alone with the Bridgestones which are oh so soft.

My other concern would be with the warranty. I wonder if you get the clunk, will Mazda have the balls to say it's because oif the aftermarket suspension ??? One thing may lead to the other kinda BS you know ?

Just a thought.

Looks sick though man.....well done!

ya i posted a comment about 2 months ago saying how badly i wanted some springs or coilovers cause the msp just DOESNT look low enough. you would be amazed how much s*** i caught from people via AIM. the 2 pics so far look insane, take that baby out and let us have a peak. anyone else thinking about sum 18s?? I found sum 10 spoke 18" Rims that are so bad ass, they're "hyper-black" which is b/w silver and gunmetal. if i get those coilovers and the 18s, i think itd be unbelievable. good job on the coils mann!!

link anyone?

I have my MSP lowered as far as I could get it with my SKUNK2 coilovers, but the dumbass I am, I forgot to measure the height of the car stock. People ask me how much lower it is, and I don't know what to tell them...If someone knows off hand, or can run out to their MSP(stock heighth of course) and give me a measurement from the center of the fenders(front & rear) to the ground I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS!!!

that about answers it...

it says that those skunk2s can go as low as 4", i know those measurements arent ever exact, but thats a big dif, maybe 4" settled. who knows.

I'm pretty sure it was at the bottom of the threaded sleeve on the front. Either that or it was at the spring perch and could not be adjusted to go lower. The back could drop another half inch or so, but that would look stupid without the front being the same. TRUST ME...You will need an aligment. If not just that, a camber kit as well. I have already seen noticeable tire wear on the front, but that back seems ok. My alignment is tomorrow, so I will find out if that will remedy the camber problem by itself. As far as the warranty goes, I sure am lucky to have a friend in the parts department...

that's what worries me, the warranty.. I wonder if something related to the mods breaks, eg. suspension related tie rods, ball joints etc, would it be covered?

When i lowered my Integra, the car ate tie rods and ball joints for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was only dropped about 1.5 to 1.75 inches, Neuspeed sport springs. Plus a Prothane bushing kit.

Like I said...sometimes you have to sacrifice. If I end up being one of the only lowered MSP's, that'll just make me stand out that much more...I would never make it through a 4-5 year warranty without modifying my car...It's not my style to drive a stock car.
