Quick MAF and FMIC Question

Hey guys, maybe you can help me alittle here. I have a question about relocating the MAF.
I've been reading through the threads and most people are putting the MAF on the "pressure side"? Correct? This this the same as the "hot side". I read a couple of post that said the relocated to the "cold side", which I assume is the other pipe. Which one is the better one to relocate too?

It also looks like the bov should be placed on the "hot side" as well somewhere near the battery? Is there a consensus on where the best place is to put the BOV?

Sorry, if these are dumb questions, but I'm planning on doing a FMIC soon and would like to to these mods, and I want to make sure I do it right.

Thanks for an input.

If my logic serves me right, the hot side would be the pipe between the turbo and the intercooler and the cool side would be the pipe between the intercooler and throttle body.

I read a decent amount for other cars for BOV placement and the consensus was it should be placed about 12 inches away from the throttle body. This was how it was down in my Lancer OZ turbo kit and it worked wonderfully.

I still say my theory on getting rid of turkey is correct. Put a regular BOV with correct 1" flange around 10-12 inches away from the throttle body. Use 1" hose or pipe from the BOV to the intake pipe in the most direct route. Worked on my Lancer, why not the MSP. Someday I might try this with some JBWeld and hacking to test it, then get a shop to make it a more permanent mod. Sorry, off topic.

Best of luck with your mods.

cold side is the pipe between the intercooler and TB.
I just reloacted my MAF, its working great. P.S. it will cost you less than $26.

so will this make the car run richer for sure? It seems like mine is already runnning rich because my tailpipe is black everytime I wash my car. I even have the DSM AFC. And yes, I know I need to get a wideband, its on the list. :)

the relocate will make your car leaner. from my experience the fmic will make your car a tad richer. so together they even out (actually i think a little more lean than even though)

Is this true even with the DSM AFC? I can't remember correctly, but doesn't the MAF sensor send data to the MSP ECU and then the signal is "modified" by the AFC and the A/F ratio changed. I thought thats how it worked, but I could be way off. So if that is the case, would it really matter what the MAF is reading if the AFC is going to adjust the fuel anyway.

I guess I need to find out how the MAF relocation works in conjuction with the AFC.

subbing , i am going to relocate my maf once i get me fmic . want to see how this works with the afc

I did a few 10psi run last night. The car feels very strong, and the WOT issue didnt happen at all. I was on the freeway and a 240sx try to race me, I totally killed it ... hahaha ..... ( dont think it has SR-20)
