question about timing

Does anybody know what position the cams and crank markings need to be when the number one cyclinder is top dead center. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You can take out the #1 sparkplug and stick a screwdriver in the hole, then rotate the crank until the screwdriver is as high as it will go before it starts back down. That's your TDC on cylider #1.

Oh wait, I guess that won't help unless you had it marked ahead of time...

when you are at TDC on #1 the intake cam lobes will be pointing back towards the firewall, and the exhaust cam lobes will be pointing towards the front of the car. (all on the #1 cylinder of course) I think i have a picture from when i did my install of the JDM cams. hang on ill look and see if i can find out where the keys are supposed to be. its been about 8k miles since i put them in so i cant really remember.

EDIT-Ok found my pics- On this shot you see what you want to line up on the cam gears. The little marks by the I-intake, and the E-exhaust.
