Question about HD lip

no one sells the frost king hard bottom garage door seal. home depot, lowes nor ace hardware has it anymore.

all everyone has this new foam like rubber material but not the hard s***. can anyone point me in the right direction for the hard garage door seal

stevessvt,

Why does my lip look so big? Did I do it wrong?

No,......not at all. I think it's just a different one. They are attached, from what I can see, at the same place. I don't think it looks bad at all.

Walti yours looks like it's sticking downwards instead of outwards. I think you put yours on upside down or inside out I guess you could say. Might need to flip it over.

this thread is GREAT for the How To. its from the SRT-4 forums, shows what type the packaging looks like that they used and what side to mount the tape onto:

I got the foam stuff too. I'm too lazy to change it out though, so I think I'll be sticking to this method.

And after looking at mine again, it is the foam stuff. Maybe that's why it came out good.......
i like the seal that all the other guys has, its hard, looks better since its a tougher and darker material. not to mention when driving its too hard for the wind to move or flex, that foam material you have i bet doesnt keep the its shape when the vehicle is in motion since it such i soft material.

the brand of that garage door seal used on that MS6 is "Frost King" made by thremwell products. i called them today since, lowes, home depot, ace hardware nor true value carries it and they said they(thremwell) still make tthat garage door seal so it looks like im going to order directly from thremwell.

walti,
it looks like you mounted yours on the little plastic piece thats attached to the underside of our bumper, but yours actually looks good...its more noticeable and looks like its functional so-to-speak

but as said, with that material being so soft-i cant imagine it keeps shape when the car is moving at a certain speed

ok, i just ordered two 16ft rolls of the Frost King bottom garage door seal that is no longer avail. in sttores like HD, lowes etc.

this is the orinigal garage door seal people have been using which is shown in the "hd lip" thread used on the MS6(not the foam grey colored seal.)

the cost is $9.99 for the 16ft roll so the 9ft of course is cheaper

the seal's part # G16H

whole sellers number 800-305-4393
