Question about a turbo upgrade?

Your turbo should be fine, what are your goals with your car? Are you wanting more power, or ?? A FMIC, exhaust, and the basic stuff will help.

What she said. You should be plenty happy with basic bolt ons. If you enjoy the pep the car has, a simple side mount upgrade and hard pipes with an exhaust should really change the dynamics of the car and make for a more fun drive.

As for the mileage issues don't worry about it so long as you change the oil regularly. I turboed my car AT 80k and was fine for a good while.

wow, thanks everyone for your relipes...it is greatly appreciated! I wasn't necessarily looking to upgrade my turbo, just getting am option mostly. I've never owned a fast street legal car before, besides my '71 Camaro which is pretty much only driven to the drag strip and back (because 9 mpg starts to hurt your pocketbook after alot of driving around lol), Im just looking to go a little faster :). I treat my car like it's my baby...oil gets changed on a regular basis, parts are changed when need to, i dont run it hard all the time...just occasionally, i give it plenty of time to warm up and cool down, but the only thing im worried about with my MSP is how it was previously treated. Im unsure if they ragged it or treated it like it was gold. Anywho...i am looking to do more upgrades to my MSP though. Right now all i have is an HKS BOV and Rear Section HKS Exhaust. Now im looking at buying the Corksport FMIC off of protege garage. Is that a good one? I guess and after that ill be fixing my exhaust and buting a few more performance parts lol

Not that I would be able to help you out if I knew where in Louisiana you lived anyway.

Never been there, but I'm imagining a lot of cows. Cows and cowboys.

haha yes you are right. There are nothing but country folks here, i live in the country. Nothin but a bunch of rednecks drivin in their big ole jacked up pickups headin to a rodeo's. I live walking distance from a rodeo arena and there are no kidding 5 cow pastures just from my house to the nearest city, which is 15 minutes from my house. [There was no sarcasm in that at all lol]

Do you have the HKS bov on your car now? Or do you just have it for later? The CS is good if you have that kind of money to spend on one I guess.. I offer FMIC kits on my website, I'm doing a sale right now too ($50 off) on them. Another thing you can do is look in the FS section, there is a MAM FMIC in there as well.

FMIC is a great mod, it will really make top end more fun though you may notice a minimal lag since you will run more piping. My buddy setup his MSP a while back with a CS and he loved it, I highly recommend it. Good luck!

Hahaha, I'm in NY just for school, but originally from Orange County California, and we had a shitload of rednecks driving their big ole jacked up pickups. We also had a problem with Hispanics and their pimped out boxy accords and chevy astros.

But if you're going to buy a corksport, don't. Shell out the extra cash and go for a turbolife. I've heard nothing but great reviews, and it's pretty cheap for what it is.

The altered customs i hear is a good kit too, and they are dirt cheap for what they are.

I did all my research on fmics, ended up getting a turbo life, and I love it. I get smooth power all the way through the powerband.

and a back end exhaust will give you no performance gains, just louder sound. Start at the midpipe, then the front, then the back.
