I used to frequent the sounddomain forums quite a bit but I haven't been there in over six months. My member id is 418 on the board so if you remember me, it could be as far back as 1998.

i was sndsgood on sounddomain until the big crash over there a few years ago, it would have problaby been back in 98 or so. thats when i was there allot

Hey guys, back to the original topic at hand... my speakers are starting to sound much better; I think I just had to break them in. Also, I'd just like to say that my Aiwa deck (which is 4x52w peak) is noticably more powerful than the stock deck... but that's just what my ears hear.

and now if u got an 50x4 amp hazman the sound would be tons louder and allot better as well ;) sorry for nabbing your post there.

sorry for the threadjack...
...probably was me then. I stopped going there when it really slowed down. I don't remember a big crash though. I was just on there last night. Same old questions though "Which subwoofer is better?" "How do I remove the stock head unit from my 96 Honda?" "I have two 4 ohm subs wired in parallel and my amp keeps shutting off!" etc etc etc. I can only take so much.

yeah i havnt been on there in a while. they could never get my name back and that annoyed me lol.

got wake, ive been on carsound for a long time. i'm like member 1000 or something. i just don't post allot. although allot of good information it tends to turn into a pissing match allot.

yeah, sometimes it takes a while to filter through the pissing matches to the actual information, but once you get the info, it usually very valuable stuff(thumb) like i'm still waiting on test results from richard clark on the chassis ground of a car. manville smith says at JL they tested it to be equivalent to 4 guage, and richard says it's larger. course richard also basis his stuff on "his" music, so he's assuming most all music has about a 50% duty cycle, but i recomended that he test with the lil john CD, and he said it's got 75% duty cycle(smoke) the other test CD will be slayer, which makes even my amps hotter than hell(thumb)

he's doing a test to see what the body of the car is equivalant to in wire size? i'd be intrested to see his results, i'm asssuming this has to do with running a ground straight to the battery versus to the body of the car right? that debate happens about every other month. i think its a car by car basis, ive seen a few cars have better ground going straight to the battery. but most of the time you will get just as good by going to the frame. either way will work. most people beleive its' one way or the other. people don't realise that this is car audio and theres always 6 diffrent ways to go around the same block.

yeah, manville smith from JL said that for higher powered systems you should add at least an extra 4 guage ground from the engine chassis area to a spot near your amp ground for best grounding. i'm very intersted in richards tests, especially since he wants to prove manville wrong;)

on todays newer cars its possible i think. less welds less metal touching versus the old days when u had the soilid cars and frames. but i feel it just varies to much from car to car to be a definate one way or the other.
