Has anyone put a push button ignition in there P5? If so was it an easy install and if anyone can wright up some instructions on how to do it that would be great.(nana)

I was going to, just didnt know where to mount the button lol. Looks fairly easy tho, saw a wright up some where that was selling the button

That looks too good to be true but I would definatly get that if I had the money it sounds awesome. But why not just make a hole for the button? Like where the dimmer switch is or something

The one I saw had a simple button. You put the key in the ignition and turn to on but if you turned the key nothing would happen, ignition wire ran to a terminal on the back of the button where the other half (leading to motor) ignition wire was. Press the button allowing circuit to be continued and your car starts.

honestly its your car, do with it what you want, if a push button start makes you happy and you have the funds then go ahead and do it, you dont need anyones approval

i don't really see the appeal of still having to put the key in the ignition and then hitting a button... might as well turn the key one more notch. but that's just my opinion... i also wouldn't want to spend $400 hahah

Its more of the cool factor of having one I know where he's coming from cause I want one too. I just don't know where id put it

Well i have seen enough vids on youtube about the pivot starter so im going with that one ill post up some picks when i install it.

The one I saw was 8 bucks, take ignition wire and cut it. Solder one end on one terminal and the other end on another terminal on the back of the button. Turn key, power comes on. Push button, wire's circuit is completed and starts.

i was thinking something cheaper say http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0Q...emZ250825211874QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aIT but i dont know the draw back to this thing is that my car may blow up first time i push the button. im not interested in the key fobs or an alarm i just want the push start button. but what do you guys think?
Personally i wouldnt go with a push to start, unless it got rid of my key completely, however thats just my opinion. It would still be sweet to have a button to start your car even if it still required the key :)

I love the push start I want one on my car my wifes grandmother has it on her altima I love the no keys idea. So lmk what ya come up with so I can check it out.

The one thing to keep in mind if you do go with a system that does away with the key completely is to make sure you disable your steering wheel lock, otherwise you wont be able to turn your steering wheel

got the parts in now i realize i have no idea what wires i have to cut into to hook this thing up im guessing im going to need a wiring diagram for the car.

The Wire is probably the Blue one.

The Large Black with Red and Large Black with Blue are direct to the Battery (Dont Mess with them)

Please spend more than $8.00 on a part that could actually prevent you from getting to work in the morning, or forcing you to walk home from the mall..
