Pulse plugs?

They are supposedly a new kind of plug. There is an article about them in this months issue of moddified mag, claiming to have gained 10.4whp out of a 350z with only an intake for other mods. I usually disclaim adds for fancy spark plugs but it's not an add for them, moddified tested them and those were their results. pulstarpulseplugs.com is the site with more info. Just wondering what everyone else thought, though it seems extremely dumb to spend 24.95 on a plug unless it was really something exceptional.

Doubtful that they work much better than a standard plug. There's a reason that plugs haven't significantly changed in the last 30 years -- the existing design has been perfected for a long time and works really well.

Even the multi-electrode stuff isn't really any better.

My dad worked for Bosch's spark plug division for quite a while and their tests repeatedly showed that a platinum plug in the right heat range with the right gap was more than sufficient. The key is just replacing them on schedule.

Like I said, I figured it was unlikely to be much more efficient, and wouldn't even consider a bosch +4 whatever over the ngk I already use. Seems like a realistic design though.

I have a local friend in a 2004 Mazda 3 that is getting his car Dyno'd before and after those plugs I'll let you guys know what he finds out.

What about e3 Dparm? check out their site and let me know what you think about design change? I am sure you will have commentary and look forward>

I dont know, this interests me too. Ive read several pieces on this and the gradually stepped up from budget to really expensive conventional plugs and finally to the pulse plugs. The car was a 240sx that i believe was turboed. They got hp and tq gains with each step up. The pulse plugs faired the best. I dunno seemed pretty convincing.
