protege5 stock suspension troubles

I find that when I give my car all the power it has, the front suspension will shutter or jump a little.. I only really notice it when auto-xing.
what do I need to do to fix this?
limited slip? new engine mount?

Can you be more specific in describing what happens, and when exactly it happens? Also, is your car auto or manual?

my car is an 03 manual - I guess I should say, it 'feels' like the drive wheel is slipping when under full power. It is hard for me to describe, but when I really step on it, it don't move forward is a controlled method, it sorta' pulses. I'm hoping its just a wheel slipping.. but I was wondering if this is common

yep. Sounds like wheel hop. Get on the gas more gradually coming out of corners. If u just floor it, the inside wheel's just gonna bounce around...not good for traction, or for ur car...

I have that problem also, are there are parts that could be replaced with aftermarkets to decrease the wheel hop?

Motor mounts are the way to go - if you don't want something super stiff that will cause your brains to rattle around, check out the ones from NSN. I have them (except the rear) and love it: reduces engine movement (and wheel hop) without a huge increase in rattling.

ok, I just read this carefully. I dunno what class you're looking to be in for auto-x, but motor mounts WILL bump you out of stock. I dunno what the rest of ur mods, if any are, so I'm gonna make the ass umption that u are stock.

good point - -yeah, I'm HS now... i'm actually still racing novice since I'm not very good yet. man, i'd never win if I had to run stock modified...

yea, expecially over a set of engine mounts. I had the same problem you did since I started racing (I did 4 races last season, this is going to be my first full season). In fact, I still have that problem to a degree lol, but yea, if you just roll on the power, instead of plantin your foot on it, it will pull you through better, and u'll have more control. Try hitting the apex later as well. At some point, I'm planning on getting a set of Tokico blues and an MP3 front sway bar to make the car a little more neutral.
