Protege5 Outback?

Ok I am sure I will be flamed to death for this but this is my idea for a build on my car. I want to move away from the "street racer" look that a lot of people go for (lowered with big wheels and low profile tires, body kits, etc.). I was thinking of trying to make it more of what the Subaru Outback is to the Impreza or something like the old AMC Eagles. I like that All-Terrain look on a wagon and i think the P5 has great potential too look good. So here is my list of things i want to accomplish:
(wrc)
Suspension: Looking to raise it about 1/2" to 1" Maybe more idk how tall is too tall lol

Tires: Something meaty with good looking tread

Push bar/light bar: something like this https://rallyinnovations.com/product...php?prod_id=57

Fender flares: I doubt I will get the fenders flared for real, More likely it will be those crappy stick on kind (jury is still out on this one)

Mudflaps: I know rally armor makes good ones but im still shopping around on that

Skid plates: Also not sure about this but I wouldn't mind a little extra under body protection.

Paint: I'm playing with photoshop now on maybe a two tone midnight blue upper with a lower silver. but I am not sold on that idea either

Stickers: Lots and Lots of Stickers and Graphics.......JK lol (stash)

I live in Orange County, I don't plan on taking my P5 out on a trail or some mud. This is mostly just for looks. Although the extra ground clearance will be nice.

Here is my canvas.

Anyone have any ideas on suspension?
Also if anyone wants to play with some ideas on photoshop, have at it.

Overall this idea is just now coming together so any input will be greatly appreciated. I just like the idea of something a little different.
Let me know what you guys think.

^^EXACTLY!! That's awesome why do foreign counties get all the cool toys! So lets say i want something like that. I am having the hardest time figuring out suspension options.

There's plenty of places in orange county or nearby to offroad.

Silverado canyon (aka blackstar canyon) Being one of them in anaheim.

If you go off the ortega highway you can go from south orange county to lake elsinore by going up and over a mountain.

Theres indian truck trail if you're willing to go out by the 15.

They're all fire access roads and they're extremely fun. They're kind of scary though, especially the gravelly parts and the fact that you're pretty much at all times about 3 ft. from the edge of a cliff straight down into your death.

If you lifted the P5 an inch i'd bet you can make it across 75% of those trails.

Ah the good ol More Mazda "Field Break" series. Corksports also sells the badges. Would be cool to convert to one.

Idk about a full field break clone. Only because it would never be a true clone. Maybe if I could get the bumper covers but that doesn't seem like it would be easy or cheap. Also it would be pretending its something its not. Like when people stick mazdaspeed emblems on their p5. But its a good idea. I'm looking into the skid plate from corksport. I think suspension will be first.

Well to each their own. At least even if you did try to clone you are making it how you want it. The Field Break is based off the Sport20 anyways with the add on's.

That field break car in the link above has some interesting features...........like some but not all.

I know for a fact the suby outback used ~1" spacers in between the chassis and subframe mounting points to lift it some. Only reason I know is because a friend bought one and swapped in a 2.5 and slammed the heck out of it lol! You could also possibly make spacers to go in between the body and strut mounting plates, but be careful of the angling of your axles.

Ive seen a few rally/lifted dodge neons, they use longer springs but I still don't understand how the shock/strut deals with that. It can only go so high...

I like this idea a lot :)

I would say leave it at stock height, it looks fine that way.

You can get the field break bumper, i can help you get it if you really wanted.

I would love a Field Break bumper but they are Pricey! I think with the two tone and the rally bar it should get the same effect.

Do the base protege sedans have a higher ride height then the p5 maybe swaping to those struts and springs would give it the lift I'm looking for. Then I could get some all/terrain tires and some wheel spacers for a better stance.
