protege fs-de vs. probe fs-de

Oops, sorry about the 626 thing, but I did recorrect that. They may have the same Duration but what really matters is lift, which is why it would give an in crease of 8 hp on a stock DE motor. Me personally, I'd go with a better duration (like a 253 intake/exhaust duration) and I garunteed that it will make some serious power, possibly even a slightly lumpy idle

The MSP has the same compression as all other 2.0-liter Proteges too...

The head gasket is the same...

s*** went I got my jspec cam installed on my 93 2.0 with an addition to 2 degree advanced on the timing I netted a 13whp gain. Not bad for a $150 investment.

Holy old threads Batman!!!

Now if i've read this correctly, the block is essentially the same on the Ford Probes as our Proteges? If this is the case would the older, lets say 1990, Ford Probe GT. (2.2L w/ Turbo) Would our tranny bolt up to it? Also could you use a newer head, from our stock protege on this block?

All i would need is pictures of the bottom of our head and our tranny. I happen to have a 90 PGT and will be pulling the motor out later today.

Nope you read it wrong..The F2T is the engine in the Ford Probe GT w/2.2L Turbo..it is a completely different block than the FS,which was found in the 93+ Probe 4 cylinders..FYI the 90 Probe GT is more than likely that POS vulcan 3.0L V6, not the F2T

The 1st Gen GTs were the F2T, trust me I have one in my garage. The LX were the POS V6.

The block is an F-Series, and i'm curious as the similarities, there has to be some.

there are absolutely none. it won't work...I have a 90 MX-6 GT myself...check out mx6.com...I promise you I know the F2T and the FS-DE intricately, it WONT work
