Well you radiator and lines I am sure are toast..and as far as the tilted motor..I would expect it considering the location of the front motor mount....and the core support damage....I still dont think its totalled...Trust me...it takes quite a bit to total a car...Look at what happened to mine. I still got the hood if its not though.

luckly i had my old metal hood on...instead of the cf one...so if its not totaled i could trade my cf one...if it is totaled then ill just sell it. ill let you know if for some reason i do need it...wait. it might be cheeper to get it from you....ill hit you up after i hear from insurance

Heath, that sucks man. Glad you are ok, rest that back. ******* rednecks in trucks. Pics are kind of dark, but in your case, I kind of hope it is totalled. You had nothing but dealer problems with it. I say get another Mazda though. MSP would be cool, and most mods would cross over.

thanks guys...i tried to sleep last night..but between the no a/c in south LA and the contruction on the levees right by me and the wreck...wasnt a good night. im taking it easy though.
thanks for everything and pray that its not totaled....

good luck man. everything will work out one way or another. and like we were talkign about earlier. just have the company total it out. and buy it back from them. leaves you with some cash in hand and your car still..to do with what you wanna. a msp would be the s*** though.

Sorry to hear. Don't give up on Mazda, though, still a great product.
As for the citation, I don't mean to rant, but, I just don't get why some cops feel the need to cite drivers in this kind of situation. Unless there is clear
evidence of reckless driving, all it does is make you look bad to your insurance company.
There is too much policing going on after the fact, after an accident already happens, instead of making the highways safer from assholes that cause the accidents in the first place.
How many of us face this situation every day as I do:

I drive to and from work (@37 miles ea. way) mostly on a stretch of highway that is outdated and too congested, with on-ramps that are way too short.
The posted speed limit is 55mph. I guarantee that if you are not going at least 65mph and are within one car length of the car in front of you (in either lane, doesn't matter) you will either be tailgated, or someone will pass you and then cut in front of you again, or both.
There are multi-car accidents almost every day and I know for a fact that if I ever need to stop suddenly, my car and I will be toast.

so sad..but man, are you correct.

Damn, dude, I'm really sorry to hear that. It's probably good that it's totaled, though. They never run right after a wreck. I say definitely try to dig up an MSP if it's an option. You won't regret it.

As for the cite, that's Louisiana law. If you rear-end someone, it's always your fault, regardless of the circumstances. I don't doubt the cop was being a dick anyway (modded import & my general experience with LA police), but unfortunately this was just no way around it in this case.

It's good to hear you're not hurt worse than you are. You also might want to get your back checked on. Those small problems can get big over time.

yea i know its LA law...and he was just mean and rude..thats why i say he was a dick..not for the ticket. but yea my back isnt really hurting anymore...i think it was just from tensing (sp?) up before the wreck. but if it comes back ill def get it checked out.

i might look at an msp..who knows...since ive been around this car and somewhat know the ins and outs of it...just up to insurance. it didnt effect the steering on the car so i think it would still drive right.... drove straight (got pulled by a copcar off the interstate) for about 1/2 mile....it seemed straight. oh well. we will see! if anyone has a stock exhaust and wants a corksport one...PM me! also my rims... if you have stock 4 luggers and want mine...PM ME!! all of this of course is pending it being totaled but yea still pm me to get in line!

sorry to hear about your wreck, Heath! hope everything gets worked out with the insurance company w/o any complications!

thanks jeffrey!

the front lip LOOKED to be in good condition, but it was about 1am before we got to the tow yard with almost no lighting...ill check it tomorrow when i go to rip out my parts

I figured you knew; that was more directed at the out-of-staters that might not. I hadn't even seen where you said the cop was a dick ... looks like I guessed right, though.

Dang, this sucks. I'm sorry :( I hope if its totaled you buy another protege, or at least another mazda.
