Actually, anyone out there try to get pricing like this. Remember, the money you save is yours. You can put it forward to mods or get a system or something else.

Got my p5 for 12605, My bro graduated so the car is actually in his name cause of the 500 discount.

hmm..it doesn't work.

Bummer, the grad thing doesn't apply to me. I graduated too long ago and the classes I am currently taking towards another degree don't put me close enough to grad again.

Yeah, the dealer isn't under any obligation to share their dealer cash with the consumer, that's why I was so surprised to see the dealer I worked with just throw it right out there to win my business. To me, that says a lot to her integrity. She realizes that if she gives people the best deal possible without giving up aLL her profit, those customers will come back....AND, send their friends :-)

I'm very happy with the deal I got, eventhough some across the country seem to be a doing better. I am extremely happy with the service I got an I would recommend her to anyone. So, anyone in SoCal that is looking for a P5, let me know. I'll give you the info. :-)

Andy

honestly, thank you all of you for really good information.
I'm in process of trading in my mp5 to stick mp5 or msp.
but still my dealer is full of BS. since it's in college town, they've been ripping of alot of college students.
but i'm sure I will not be one of them :D

I just picked up my P5 this weekend for 13500 Delivered....

Kinda hard to beat that. Loaded Vivid Yellow (3 Miles on ODO)

Goes great with the RX-8 since the 8 is well - FUN (sarcasm) in the winter...

Who would have thought that buying a new car would be cheaper than getting snow wheels and tires for the RX-8 :)

I love my wife ;)

If you're working on an MA or Ph.D. you're eligible for the college grad discount even if you're not near graduation. I don't know if you're working towards one of these, Drew.

"Loaded" isn't specific enough to help those trying to do price comparisons. It means different things to different people. Dealers use the term to apply to any car with power windows in my experience, LOL.

So, skuz, what's your equipment and MSRP?

well...

MSRP: 18755 I believe - Ill have to check when I get home

6 Disc, Moonroof, no roof rack, 5 Speed, All the power Stuff (windows, locks, etc..), Complete rust Proofing setup (that was 800 buck FREEBIE), uh...

Vivid Yellow of course.

Can't remember the rest of the options. If you asked about the RX8 - I could rattle that off quicker.

Ill have images of them both soon.

All ready ordered the gReddy exhaust, short shifter (B&M) and the K&N typhoon. Eibach springs tomorrow and 17 inch wheels/Tires when the snow goes away :( Gotta drive this in the winter since the 8' is as I said above - FUN...

The car you've described has an MSRP of $18105.

The other major options you might have are chrome wheels, leather, and ABS--about $500 each. Lesser options (about $220 each) include the trick mirror and alarm. Then there's a bunch of $30 stuff.

ok - close on the 18105

actually was

18355

PSL
WLK
MC1
1MC

Moonroof, 6 Disc, Subwoofer (whatever), Wheel Locks, Upgraded Alarm

MSRP Base of 16895

Total of 18355

Took home for 13500 (3 mazda in 3 years - extra bonus there I guess)

Best quotes I can get in the SE PA area are identical to Edmunds TMV plus the $2500 rebate. No one wants to kick in the $1000 "marketing assistance" money, or even acknowledge it exists.
Best price so far on a $17,745 MSRP Vivid Yellow was $13K +TTT.

I'm tempted to wait until January to see if Mazda increases the rebate OR do you get in on the end of the month sales quota pressure??

Elf,

Just out of curiousity...when you are getting quotes from the dealers are you talking to their regular sales or Fleet/Internet sales department?

Andy

As I stated like on the first 2 pages, I really want to cry seeing these prices! I could have saved almost 4k! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy,
Best quotes I've received are from the Internet Sales "Consultant". I've been searching the inventory off the MazdaUSA site and submit a quote request from there.

Both quotes (one from MD one from VA) were almost identical, about $300 below the Edmunds TMV less $2,500 rebate.

Local dealers (floor sales) are about $500 higher or even worse.

I've just received a phone message from a local dealer that I had checked out sometime ago.... that sales lady told me that they are selling their remaining 11 Protege5 for almost HALF price. I'm not sure how true that was but she seem pretty honest when I first met her. I didn't buy from her in the first place coz they did not have the color I want.

Isn't it getting more interesting??
