Production Number Plate

So I have a Blazing Yellow Speed Protege. And I'm not sure what Production number it is because I don't have The Number plate. What could I do about that? and how could I figure out what number it is?

Are you saying the VIN plate on the front dash is missing? You could always look at the title to find the VIN number and match to the list posted on here.

Well I saw on here somebody had an actual Production Number Plate. It said MAZDASPEED Protege 1000 whatever out of 4000 whatever.

As for as I know, those are custom. I don't think our cars came with production number plates from the factory.

Ok. It looked like it came with it. It was really nice. I know you could look at the VIN and figure out the production number. I have a blazing yellow MSP and from what I read it's an 03.5 and 750 were made. But it doesn't quite make sense when I look at the VIN..

What do you mean it doesn't make sense?

I think the 13th digit is a 5 and if they only made 4000 then I can't go by that digit. And if my car is actually a 03.5 then I can't go by the last three digits because I have the Yellow speed protege and if I read right they made 750. Yellow and another color were the last colors made. Unless yellow was the first.

You can't decipher it from the VIN yourself, you need to call MazdaUSA and give it to them and they will tell you your production number.

I looked at the numbers and it says mine is #545, 03.5. but its yellow and it says on the page that 500 were made yellow.

They didnt make them in order by color man. There were 2750 total 03.5's made.

Oooh ok sweet. I was thinking that it would be under 500 because they only made 500 in yellow. I get it now.

1750 03MSPs + 2750 03.5MSPs = 4500 total MSPs

Add your production number to the total 03MSPs produced.

1750 + 545 = 2295 out of 4500

Yes. Like in 03.5 my car is number 545 out of 2750. But what number would it be from the first 03 MSP till mine. If they didn't do 03.5 and just kept it 03.
