[Prodigy's Race Protege Project]

That reminds me, my next set of wheels will have my name and phone number etched into them. I'd do it on these wheels, but I'll likely be getting rid of them soon.

The 949racing 6UL's? if so, a coworker of mine may be interested in them.

15x7.5 in a +34? If he's got a set of lightweight 15x7s to trade them for around June / July then I'd be interested. See my post in my thread for reasoning ;)

Thanks, I'll let him know.

Why just not put safety lugnuts ?
I had a set of wheel locks on the previous wheels.
The problem is that you can jam a socket over any of them to take them off.

i used that to get some off of my beater car.. but it does take some JAMING.. god damn. if you can't hear someone jaming them ini your driveway.. maybe it's time for a hearing aide? lol j/p

I had a little time these past two weeks since
--Painted the interior
--Received custom Brembo Gran Turismo big brake kit
--Ordered a Kirkey Aluminum racing seat with cover (and sold the corbeu forzas, they were a bit too heavy :D )

Before :

After :

Brembo Gran Turismo 4 piston calipers
13" drilled rotors
5x114.3 hats
custom brackets
Goodridge stainless steel braided lines

I dropped the 2.0L turbo engine and trans in the car, and found a slight problem.

The throttle body meets the strut tower roll cage bar.

So, I'm planning on making a custom intake manifold (instead of removing the bar)

Starting with a 2002 Mustang GT throttle body that a coworker of mine had around.

To be continued....

And finally, a picture of the twins!

Look good mang..

would happen to have any more pictures of that Pro with the DG fenders?

could you notch the strut bar or reposition it? from what i can tell it doesnt seem like an important member to the rest of the cage.

And damn you selling the forzas without me knowing lol

from the look of it, notching the bar out should be all it takes... but, hey, if the unfortionate positioning of a chassis bar forces a power adder... all I can say is: OH DARN!

you could notch it to go around the throttle and weld in reinforcements... it may not be 100% as strong, but it will hold up. Either that or cut both of them out and instead of having them meet in one point, space them out a bit on the firewall. That should give you the clearance you need.

you could always raise them up higher.

Its 5x114,3 not 144,3 :) Typo ;)

And I agree about relocating the strut tower instead of making a new TB, but its your choice and you have a better view of the situation ;)

go the custom manifold - kill 2 birds with one stone. The stock manifold (hell even the 626 manifold) is not reknowned for its ability to flow. you'll get far more power out of it with a custom large plenum setup, and it solves your clearance issues

I'm in the process of mateing a B18C 60mm TB to a ported 626 mani. notching it is the easy way but a new manifold is the better way given the type of build this is. subbed for sure keep it up

None yet.

As soon as I sell the protege collection, I should have the funds to order everything for the race car.
After the parts come in, it shouldn't take more than a week to get everything in place.
Any one want to sponsor the project? (gossip)

I've been too busy with other projects...
-prepped the black '99 protege for sale (swapped transmissions, cleaned interior/exterior)
-converted the red '02 protege from 2.0L to a 1.8L (need to remove the mazdaspeed interior, paint the car, and sell it)
-And I have a bunch of parts to install on the miata but I don't have the time to (driver's side window regulator, speedo cable, new trans/diff/engine/headlight;)/coolant/brake fluid, new soft top, clutch line, clutch actuator, oil pressure and water temp gauges, garage vary front lip, new rotors and pads, paint for the front bumper cover, and eventually a 1.8L)

nice looks like you have a pretty good plan laid out, i forgot you picked up the miata as well.

btw off topic but you have any factory fogs laying around, guy at my work is looking to buy a set

Nope, not factory. Though I do have some cheap autozone/walmart specials.
