Cool easy fix I might just buy 2 and put it in my MP5 Turbo First Aid Kit..

Jeremy
Yup, I have 2 extra as well! These coils used to be closer to $100! There were some with defects, so the cost dropped for Mazda from the supplier!

I am sporting the BKR6E plugs from NGK. Gap them at .25-28.
Same here..

The one downside to gapping so low..is start ups..

I checked the wiring and I tapped into the correct wire and I also checked it with the Voltemeter.....changed the coil...started the car and it's the same damn thing.....Im on my way to the parts store to get the plugs maybe they need changing...

Any other suggestions on what can be happening with my car??????

...What about the maps? Have you set all Global Settings right?

Yes, check the global settings with MPNick, and also check your ignition wiring at the PCM.

Some suggestions:

1. Try not tu use serial cable extensions.

2. Confirm the settings going online and offline often. Sometimes you input things and the MPI does not receive them.

3. If you can keep the car on idle, doesnt matter if its rough or not. Try disconecting the spark plugs and injectors one at a time and see how the car behaves while on idle.

4. Reinstall the software and use the new key. I tried my maps on another PC that its not aware of the MPI and it loaded just fine...what map are you using right now?

Well just my luck my parts store dont carry that plug this is the second parts store that i've been too...they had the Bosch Platinum...this came up as they entered the spark number...will this be o.k?????

Linux: you said gap them to .28 or .028???? I have a gapper and it cant go that big..but it will go as small as a .028...

I havent done anything with the global settings as yet...give me some pointers here guys....im starting to get annoyed with everything...

Jeremy

Acidbg: I hope I have the correct directions....I have couple wires that I have no use for according to the directions...

igdrasil: my computer doesnt have a connection that allows me to plug the mpi right in..I had to get a usb connection adapter..

I need someone to to help me set up the global settings...Im going from pc to laptop.....argggh....this sucks.....

Thanks 505zoom...I also e-mailed MPNICK about the settings also...I will be trying these out...If I dont get this thing running I will be towing this car to NJ so nick can take a look at it...and maybe tune it for me....and a few lessons added in:cool:

No problem man, I included pics of all the global settings that are universal for the different protege's. If that doesn't fix it, and you already changed your coil, I am out of ideas.:(

Oh wait... did you ever check your ignition wiring at the PCM?

Do not use Platinum plugs..or you can say bye bye to your engine!
