i recently put a fmic on my msp and i have found some oil in my pipes and i have no clue how its getting in there. and my bov is not even working. it seems like i dont have enough psi to open the valve. the noise comes out of the air filter on my short ram intake. it flutters alot and the noise doesnt come out of the bov. i know its nothing wrong with the turbo because i recently got it rebuilt. any suggestions on how to fix this problem??

is it in the pipe below the turbo or on the other side of th intercooler?

well at first it was coming out of the pipe before the intercooler. then got the turbo rebuilt. and now its coming out of the pipe right after the intercooler leading up to the maf. im really thinkin its something with the bov thats making this do this. not sure though

yeah. i cleaned everything out real good! and i am really concerned why my bov isnt working. it like backfires the air back out the intake out the air filter. u can hear it come out of it. its a turbo xs type rfl. and i know there not suppose to flutter but thats what i hear.

sounds like your getting blow back thru the turbo, check to make sure that all your vac lines are tight. Then you need to check and see if the bov is working, I would try and still out of boost when driving. With the turbo being rebuilt to mucj blow back may cause you to have it rebuilt again if you have damaged the seals. check for leaks or loose hose.

alright i will check asap. thank you. any ideas on any certain vacuum lines to check possibly?

i got the bov about 4 months ago. i got it brand new. im thinkin it could be to tight or something. a mechanic told me that when i put a fmic on the car it electronically puts down the boost about a pound or so. so maybe my boost is to low and it cant open the bov so it blows back through or something. do u think i should get a boost controller and gauge and maybe up the psi a little bit and see what that does?

Whaaa...? Are cars are not controlled by a electronic boost controller! Its all by the WGA and intake mani presure. I think he means a presure drop due to the larger core when compared to stock.

Seems so simple, you'd think they'd check it before complaining about the problem on the forum.

I have had some problems but i try and try to figure it out on my own. So far I've been pretty good.

True but often its the little simple crap that gets over looked!. My uncle and I trouble shooted his "new" srt-4 to hell wouldn't have it. Turns out we fixed a bunch of little things in the process but his boost gauge was bad. lol We tested it with mine and his was only reading 9lbs of boost and on mine 14-15lbs..

Stupid boost gauges going out, I replaced my friends with an autometer one then fixed it and he put the SRT one into his MSP.

They are auto meter gauges, they just need to be cleaned out every once in a while. The SRT doesn't have the best tuning, it goes through a lot of oil out of that PCV.
