ok so i was driving my girlfriends FWD cx7 and in every gear around 2,000 rpm it feels like its missing i was gone to put new plugs in it unless someone knows what could be wrong with it. If plugs what plugs have been put in these vehicles? Also its all stock and not throwing and CEL

93 all the time this problem has been going on for like two months now so i dont think its gas we've tryed several different gas stations

Spark plugs are iridium and good for 60,000 miles. I suspect bad fuel or you just need to take it out on the highway and run it.-WOT to 5,000 rpm in the lower gears and a steady drive at 60 to whatever is safe for 10+ miles if you can.

Isn't 2000 rpm about the time you begin to feel the turbo? Maybe you're just at the very threshold of spooling it and not spooling it.

already tried this

Ours is having the me problem. Was fne then broke down while out. AAA jump started it and it ran but feels like it is missing at about 2000 rpm.
Took it to my local mechanic who has done the plugs, airfilter etc etc with no resolution, topped up the gas with super and drove it but still no improvement. Our mechanic said it may need to be "re-calibrated" at a Mazda dealership.... anyone else care to suggest anything??
I am taking it to Mazda on Monday if it is still unresolved.

what does this do?

A lot of slow driving can foul the plugs with carbon and you need to load the engine to burn off the carbon. Mazda has a 'fix" and says I think!!! to hold 4,000 rpms for several minutes in neutral but, maybe someone has the correct procedure. If I find it I will post it. In addition; depending on the Vin # and year there is a TSB that requires that the PCM be reflashed to alleviate this problem. Look on www.finishline.com for details. Ed
