Problem after Turbolife install.

I installed a Turbolife FMIC. I relocated my MAF to my cold pipe.

While i was driving it yesterday, I noticed if i pushed down harder on the throttle, around 3.5 and 4K rpms, my car jerks for a slipt second. Sometimes it only happens once, other times i happens a couple times. Once I get past the 4K rpm mark, it stops happening.

I'm light footed and dont' get to the 4k mark unless i put my foot down harder.

P.S. I forgot to install one of the fans back on and i'm running on 1 fan right now.

you have a leaky coupler somewhere causing a pressure leak. do you have a vac/boost gauge?

if its not a leak then you might just not have reset your ECU.

sorry, wga? How? Could you explain that?

I didn't touch my wastegate at all during install.

the wastegate actuators are a known cause of boost leaks on these cars. The diaphragm in them will go bad, causing a leak under different circumstances. You can check this by blowing into it... if it holds pressure, it is most likely fine, if it lets air through its gone bad. ATP and forge both sell replacements.

The 'jerk' sounds like its because of a leak somewhere, possibly from the wastegate, possibly from a coupler that is not sealing up, possibly from cracked vac lines, or numerous other things.

If you have a boost gauge, like sleepyMSP alluded to, knowing your vacuum reading at idle (with A/C off) can help you determine if you have a leak or not. If you don't have a boost gauge, i would recommend getting one, since if it is your wga leaking it could be causing your boost to run higher than normal, which can be very dangerous for your engine.

There is no such thing man, it's better to post it for others than to keep it to yourself if it's something really simple.. you never know who might make the same simple mistake and be thankful that you posted it.

lol nice...thinking about it i cleaned mine and have been having weird idle issues ...hmmmthat was like 6 months ago gonna check this after work...lol lol lol but i doubt it i paid pretty close attn...

Hahahahahahahahaha....yea.

I was thinking about it during class, flipped it after class in the parking lot, and no problems.

I really hope that's a common problem and not just me.

classic!
it happened to me too...

i was hitting a wall at 3500rpms
switched it over and zoom...problem fixed...

no shame in that. Ive started my car after work on it wondering why its running like crap...remember, plug in the maf haha

How would you know if the MAF is backward? My MSP has that same jerking sensation around 3500K sometimes when I punch it.
