It pulls hard and runs great but i dont like driving around with the Cel on. It also gets rid of the infamous cold engine rattle.I believe it leaves the flaps open when you unplug the clip.Need to figure out how to get rid of the CEL though.

easiest way is to unplug the light :p

and about edwin man, hes an ass to his users on protegeclub, always saying RTM!! (read the ******* manual) and stuff. its weird that he would work on an faq, then b**** when somebody wants to use it to benifit a protege owner, i mean who did he make it for, civic owners?

Hey, what kind of intake is that? It's looooooooooong. Is there a spot for the temp sensor?

uhm ok. you are getting mad b/c he politely asked you to cite where you copied the explanation? Me and edwin work hard on getting some of this information published (his faq is 100% his tho)......its great to see our efforts go COMPLETELY UNAPPRECIATED from people like yourself.

I've already noticed no one gives a s*** seeing how i got no donations from anyone for my mazdaprotege.net site that happened to go DOWN for life b/c I didn't see the point in paying $100+ to renew it for another year so ungrateful people can leech off of my hard work without any kind of thank you.

since then i've got plenty of emails "where is your how-to?" "what happened to the featured cars section?" etc......

I've learned from this mistake. I won't be doing any protege owner any more favors b/c i rarely get a thank you or any kind of nice freindly email....i get more emails asking for more information than any thanking me for the work i've already done.

uhh.....???

Calm down there bro, I don't see how his last message was "douchbag-like". Sure the technology isn't copyrighted, but the site DOES have a user agreement just like this site.

It is hard to get reliable information about some of this stuff....sure these forums help A LOT by getting more people to chime in about a certain topic but there is still some stuff out there that hasn't been researched.

When one individual person goes out of hteir way to make some phonecalls to mazda to find out about something, gets the numbers and posts them online for the benefit of others (as edwin and myself DO) it would be nice if we get a LITTLE RECOGNITION instead of people saying s*** like "good god, what an asshole.....its a free country"

seriously...think about it for a minute, try to see where i am coming from.

This Excuses Douchbag antics?

That should be posted in hopes of helping all Protege owners, not just the ones on HIS board. Not to mention HE DIDN"T INVENT THIS SYSTEM. Its not like he can copywrite information found else where. He is not the Mazda Engineer that designed it or the guy that wrote the service manual so he is just a reuser himself, even if it is his own words.

Take the stickies I put up in the car audio forum, I wouldn't care if they copied and made there own stickies over on the other boards. Its not like I personaly removed every models protege door panel and discovered the speaker sizes for myself. I simply did a little research, I deserve no credit for the info and can't tell other how to use it!

He's an asshole for trying to regulate how people share information with one another. I researched through different websites for over 5 hours and called numerous people making my Stickies, but I did it becuase I love audio and so everyone could learn from it not for a thank you.

If it was such an enormous hassle then why did you bother doing it, for a thank you?
What kind of pussy logic is this, do something to be helpful or becuase you want to not becuase you want thanks.

As for no one thanking you at all. With the attention I pay the members in the audio forum I get thanked all the time.

Did you ever stay up till 4 am helping someone on AIM even though you had to be at work for 9! I did.

Did you ever talk to a member for an hour on the phone only 2 hours after he asked to talk to you.

Maybe you need to dump the protegeclub board if they are that un greatful. Here you get thanked for just saying checking in on peoples posts if you have something decent to say.

Ya know, I don't want to piss anyone off or get into s***, trying to hinder people from sharing info becuase they don't get credit is just Sad.

Even though your site went down for lack of funds, I fail to see how thats everyone elses fault. If its worth the $100 to help people then cool, obviously its not. Not to mention I didn't even know it existed. And even if your site isn't still up I fail to see how this keeps you from being a damn good moderater on another Board, And I think Enry has a damn fine one going here.

If you help people the thanks will come but there are numerous complaints about moderaters from other forumns being dicks. It happens very commonly. I'm sure if you are willing to help people out then you could be a mod here and I can garentee you will be thanked.

Uhh who says i do it for a thank you? I mainly share info that I found out from my modding my car or whatnot. Not to get a thank you. Along with impossible to find info that i happen to have documented in my rare shop manuals or brochures that i purchased.

And i'm not even talking about people on ProtegeClub. I'm tlaking about people in general. My site isn't related to pclub or this board, its my personal page. When ppl email me about it, it isn't related to either of these boards

And yeah i've done the same s***, talked to people on the phone, chatted on aim til late as hell on into the morning.

I'm mostly pissed b/c I didn't get any donations at ALL. The links for them were on my site for 6+ months. I got 0.00 dollars. I'm talking over 100 hours of web design and research to get that s*** online, that and about $108 for web hosting, and over $50 in research material I purchased and scanned.

all for NOTHING (imo). Sure it helped people but if they don't appreciate it, **** them.

WTF?!?

Alright, first off, to answer the question, to tie off the VICS you can zip-tie the butterflies open...That way you won't get the check engine light and you don't have to wrooy about un-plugging things

Second of all, what the hell is everyone's problem with Edwin here?

It is common coutersy to site your sources. In journalism it is demanded that you site your sources. If that source has certain rules, then you follow those rules. If that means there are copy right laws, then you damn well better follow them. Regardless if the information is considered comon info. If you quote what is exactly posted somewhere else, you better site your source.

Don't jump knee deep in Edwin's trash because he has rules for the info posted on his website that is not associated in any way shape or form with any other site.

And so what if he says "read the manual"...Is it that hard to look something up? It is a hell of a lot easier to sit down with the manual and look something up than to go through all the trouble to get on-line, log into the forum and then read twenty some-odd posts just to get one little piece of info...

I glad someone like you is out there but don't give up on everyone becuase you didn't get donations. Keep up on the boards and i am positive you will find enough people to ask for help and who would be more then happy to help you out for it.

I only refered to the PC becuae I thought that was where you had been residing mostly.

The very idea of sighting sources on an internet forum is obscure at best. I have no patientce or tolerance for people that demand english teacher sytle bulls*** in an open information forums. ITS POINTLESS. Especialy on a third hand reference. If anything they should have posted the original source of the info, ie the name of the manual and the page it was on, which website rewrote it.

As for read the manual. How about shut the hell up unless your going to be helpful. As a mod you have no idea why someone is posting what they are. Maybe they legitimately had an issue and desired your help. POst like Do a search or read the manual are just basicly calling someone an idiot. If you don't want to help DON"T POST ANYTHING.

Without siting sources on ANY forum, it looks as if you suddenly came up with the information form your own mind, which is preposterous at best in most cases. If you get from somewhere, site the damn source. Is it really that hard?

It isn't demanding "english teacher style bulls***," it is asking for common ******* courtesy to show that you didn't suddenly think something up and post it. If it is that hard to site a source, then why post the info to begin with?

And quite frankly, it is helpful to read the manual because then you might be able to help yourself! Giving someone the tools the help themselves isn't treating them like an idiot, nor is it calling them one. yes, sometimes questions are legit, but sometimes, they can be answered easily by telling them where the info is...

No, just uneccisary and relitively useless. Not ot mention this wasn't the issue, the issue was that he told someon in what manner they may share information :wtf:
THis isn't his rules to make, maybe on Protegenazi.com it is but not on the rest of the net.

Are you saying you always sight your reference? Of coarse you don't know one does. And the fact of wanting credit for thrid hand info is rediculous. Actauly making a point to scold someone for not fallowing pretend rules isn't asking for common courtes its :bs:.

Telling someone the info they desire is in the manual and kindly directing them to the appropriate page is helpful. Telling someone to just read the manual is being a royal dick!

He told someone who basically ripped the quote right off of his website, which is illegal! Even though the information contained with in the quote is "third party", the way it is said is intellectual property...Hence, siting the source is very necessary...And his rules are there for that reason. Intellectual property can be, and is quite often copy righted. Its not just bulls*** rules that he came up with, they are there for a reason, and apply to everyone!

Yes, I site my sources when I quote them directly, such as the case above...

Does everyone have to hold your hand to show the way?? I'm sorry he doesn't sit down with you and turn the page directly to the one you need in the manual, and then read it out loud to you. After that hold a question and answer period so that you fully comprehend the information being given.

Is it a little rash? Maybe...Should you act the way you accuse him of acting simply to point out? No...

hmm... I've seen this before... maybe because I wrote this and it came out of the Protege FAQ?

perhaps you didn't see the big red text there saying "granted for web
linking and viewing through any website only and may not be reproduced without permission"

please post a link, not a paste

I'm with ya Stutters. Edwin may have done some things on the other forum that earned him the "asshole title", but I don't see that here. He accually politely asked theat you just create a link. How hard is that? He does have the right to request it whether you agree or not. Just because one may feel miffed about what he has done in the past, doesn't warrant not trying to do the right thing, although on may feel like it does sometimes. If a link would have just been posted, it would have saved some server space. Edwin has spent countless hour working on that site of his, and has helped countless folks with info (including me). Let's not forget that this is a PRIVATE site not associated with any other site!! In the words of a very wise man....CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG??? -Rodney King 1992.
