Premium gas better milage?

take your cute little 600 to the nearest airfield and put 3 gallons of avgas in there. now, i know you run 93+ octane in that thing right? if not, you are hurting the performance of it. tell me that dosent make a difference. you might have to change your plugs when you are done. but it will run like a champ, and will run sooooooooo smooth. trust me on this one.
I told you ..I am not arguing with you.
This is my last comment to you..Period.

And my Cute Little 600 is actually Dyno TUned for its mods to run on 93+.
SO yeah....I dont care what you think....You are still spreading "Misleading" info.

wow. misleading, i am pretty sure i know fuels inside and out. i have an R1 dynoed for its mods

when you want to see something go fast, come to atl.

I guess I should bring the 929 then if I want to play?

Dude..don't even try to be cool with the I got a bigger one than you.
I will just play the "I have more toys than you game"
How old are you..Seriously?
Let it go..these are proteges we are talking about here..not jets.
You WILL NOT see increased Fuel milage in a Protege from using higher octane.
Period.

And BTW..there is Plenty of "FAST" stuff right here in Dayton.
Thanks

im 25, i have worked on everything from UH-60 Blackhawks, to a 13 million dollar Lear 45. Reciprocating engines all work on the same principles. Seriously, put some in your bike. But its 5.30 a gallon. You will be amazed.

planes dont equal cars

im with forcefed on this one, it really doesnt improve gas mileage on a stock p5, which is what this thread is about
and i got a bike too, an oldie but i dont want to post it and embarass u both
plus i dont have any pics of it on my comp. lol

well then. its 87 for me in the future then.which is NOT influenced by it being $117/litre atm heh.
I think ill just attribute it to my heavy foot, and my not so secret longing for a manual transmission car...
Maybe i should buy that valve body in the classies and some new bands before i kill it heh.

forcefed ftw. LOL

Anyhow google octane. Youll get better results in ur research.
Wikipedia trumps all

A key question is whether a given vehicle has a piezoelectric "microphone" knock sensor wired to the ECU, and the P5 does. In the old days you could play with timing curves etc. and witness preignition audibly, generally trying to keep just shy of knocking. Now, who knows for sure if the knock sensor is dialing back the timing etc. ? I guess if you can get better 1/4 mile ETs with premium, that might indicate that it's a benefit for a given car. But the P5 is designed to run regular, so I'm thinking you may be disappointed here. Then again some premiums purportedly have more fuel system cleaners in them (e.g. Techron), so they might be good for occasional use for that reason.
