Hello,
I would like to share with you a problem that I have encountered with a NEW 2012 CX9.
I had the 3M semi-permanent rust proofing detail done. The day after my check engine light came on!! Needless to say, when you have that glaring yellow light ON when your odometer reads 700 miles.....it is unpleasant to say the least!
Turns out that the rustproofing application sprayed a sensor vent for the fuel tank and blocked the vacuum outlet. This in turn sent an error code.
VERY Frustrating!
PLease take note, if you are spraying underneath, make sure you steer clear of the fuel tank sensor.

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, this is well known and has happened to several folks on here. Sorry it happened to you too!

Hello,
I would like to share with you a problem that I have encountered with a NEW 2012 CX9.

Thanks for the tip. BTW, is rust proofing worth it? I recently moved from Southern California to the Cleveland, OH where I'm assuming rust is an issue.

Djc6, my boss yelled at me for putting like 5 bottles of windshield wiper fluid on my corporate card when I drove up to Cleveland in a rental car. Yes it is salt city up there.

The rustproofing was indeed done at the Mazda Dealer.
Also, when I used my code reader to give me the codes, it returned errors...I was wondering if my code reader, which worked fine for my 2003 Toyota cars, was not able to give me the
codes??? Any ideas>??
