Thats got nothing to do with it. Forum members already have a choice. They can turn things off they dont want to see. But what you have to realize is that you can NEVER make everyone happy. You have to compromise. And I think this forum does a good job of that. They dont show enough nudity for me, and they show too much for some. So that means that the mods are somewhere in the middle, which is about as good as you are going to get.

Dont make me out to be the bad guy here. Like I said before, there are plenty of other members who apparently like to look at attractive women in little clothing. I am just the only one speaking up.

i can agree that we souldkeep all the Pron in the offtopic section, but i dont think its fair to have to make ppl change their avatars/sigs (which are harmless woman in bathingsuits) also why is it that everyone seems to have a problem with the half nakid woman pictures and not the violent pictures in avatars/sigs/ and smilies? why dont you fight that instead. i think that those things are much worse than a picture of a girl. what does that teach ppl, that sex is wrong and violence is ok?? i just dont let the pictures bother me. so i think that if the pictures are that much of a problem for you, then you need to turn off the show av/sig.

but the issue here is some people's sigs and avatars are of half nekkid chicks. If you don't like what you see, then turn it off, its really easy. If you need to see someone's sig or avatar, just click on their name and go to their personal profile. Simple as that. Problem taken away.

Just to add, I was in the same position about the work/home thing. I've tried to cut back on a lot of the members' sigs that have had 'questionable' content. However, you have to pick your battles and this is not one I'm going to fight hard against. It's part of the scene.

what do you mean theres not enough porn on this site for you? its not like you come here to explicitly look at porn. like it was stated earlier you'd go to a porn site to look at porn, not a car forum. i understand that some of it is tastefull and nice to see, but theres some thats a lil indecent also...

If you don't like censorship, isn't that the best option? Censor your own computer, and everybody wins. I like the informal nature of this forum. I for one would not use a naked anything in my avatar or my signature, I am here for car stuff, but to each their own. One small picture here or there won't spoil it for me, so I keep avatars and sigs enabled.

I don't think scorch understands, however. Scorch, did you read the part where I pointed out that I have NO interest in censorship? This is an issue of common decency, not of the gestapo. And by the way, I don't think an organization of secret police intended to enforce Hitler's ideas of genocide really has anything to do with our current discussion about respect and decency in a public forum.

I understand perfectly. I understand that you are trying to force your beliefs/morals/wishes upon me, and I dont like when that happens. If you didnt have a choice (were forced to come to this web site, couldnt turn off sigs, something of that nature), then it would be different. But its not. Just like I dont go to gay men's web sites because I have no desire to see two men bonking, if this site offends you, dont come here. Then start your own site which follows your beliefs/morals/wishes, however wrong they may seem to me.

I agree with zmzmzm, I always have my sigs and avatars off, I have a six year old and a two year old and they are always looking over my shoulder. I am not asking anyone to change because I keep mine off, but I can state that I do not think these should be like that. Just like you have an opinion Scorch so do we.
