I find it annoying to have to turn off sigs and avatars everytime I want to check the site really quick while I have a break inbetween classes. I'm pretty addicted to this site and everytime I'm near a computer with the internet I try and jump on to see whats going on. When I have a computer lab monitor staring at my screen I get a little nervous trying to quickly scroll past the animated GIFs of women wobbling their boobs and shaking their asses. I dont mind it I guess, but in that situation its a little annoying to be scrolling through a thread labeled AWR Header to see a girl shaking her ass. You know? We dont always chose the time we have to spend searching the site. I'm not asking anyone to change anything, but merely stating that the animated gifs in sigs are too much. Avatars arent so bad because I can move the browser off the side of the screen and still see whats going on, but sigs .. ...

Hmm. Well I guess it goes to the opinion of whether or not maxim magazine should be allowed for those that are under 18. There are some pretty specific rules in place for porn, and some accepted guidlines for what qualifies. The mods have been pretty good about enforcing that which steps over the line, and considering that you can find some pretty racey stuff on cable, which you turn off without thinking twice(6 year old+baywatch?) It goes to my personal opinion that we should regulate what we want, as individuals. If you don't want to or want your children to see something "racey" then you should be proactive and turn off potentially offending sigs/avatars- or change the station on cable..... Let it go and be in charge of what you view if you could be offended.

There's no need to rely on others to protect you or anyone else from what is, so called "forbidden". "YOU "choose to visit this forum, "YOU" choose to read individual threads, "YOU" choose to leave signatures and what not turned on. No further comment required on my behalf.

so are you saying that we should live in a society thats constantly bombarded with smut?

i personally dont like some of the programs on tv that they're coming out with. thats why we have vchips and parental guidence ratings on programs now, just like the movie theatres. its still not good that these programs are airing but atleast we have a filter for em.

magazines have always been a problem too, but we can control wich magazines to purchase and wich not to. they dont have porn/smut in a car and driver magazine, motortrend, or a hobby magazine of some sort... so why should we have it here, this is a hobby right?

we're constantly on guard trying to protect our youth from unwanted profanity and trying to filter out all the dirty images so we can bring up a developed individual with good morals and wits about him. its becoming even more difficult if nearly impossible to do so, with people not caring or showing respect to eachother. Now its commonplace to see children/teenagers not caring about themselves or eachother and participating in and or antagonizing events such as doing drugs/sex to happen that they would not normally do if they were raised and brought up in a good society. i see a lot of lil kids/teenagers treating women as if they were objects; they dont even treat em like fellow persons. its sad.

all this smut gives an attitude that we dont care, and its wrong. we shouldnt pass this attitude onto our children, but we do anyways, and this is why its hard to dicipline and correct a bad behavior when our children learned it from us to begin with.

we need to set a better example and change our attitudes about this, or society will continually spiral downwards with the generations after us.

i think anyone who attempts to argue for "import models" being a mainstream part of the car scene is kinda mislead about what the whole concept of having an automobile forum is about.

I visit this forum to gather research, talk to friends, and to see whats happening with everyone. I do not come here to view soft "prOn" or anything of the sort. I will admit it is nice on the eyes at times, but that isnt the main reason for the forum.

When www.mazdamp3.com began , i think enry and antoine had something different in mind that what actually is happening today.

I dont frequent many other forums, but I do know for example on a few miata forums, there isnt the same type of smut running rampant in the off topic section. I wouldnt say we have tons of it, but there is some.

I think it boils down to the core age group that we have here. The younger the members, the more pubescent the posts and what matters in puberty? Naked girls lol.

If you take a look at the miata forums, i believe the core age group is a bit higher, and with that increase in age, the maturity level rises and there is less risque material.

I am not here to say what should be done or anything of the sort, but if you look at the domain name it states www.mazdamp3.com not importmazdalifestyle.com or something of that variety.

It is hard to be unbiased, because I am more for performance and enjoy modification of cars more than viewing punnanie. I know that some are more into the lifestyle than modding and that is fine. But why should those into the lifestyle, ruin what the main reason of the forum is for others (ie those who cant view at work or around children).

Blocking avatars and sigs is a very democratic solution, but should they have to forfeit seeing all sigs just because some are smutty? I think that is unfair to that party.

This is all very interesting to me because i am planning on going to law school and this seems right up my alley.

If there needs to be a more risque type forum then start one. You should not infringe on the ability of others to view the forum just because you LIKE to see girls shake it. The people at work who want to browse CANT because of the smut.

I dont know what the happy medium is here but i think there should definately be some more stringent limitations placed upon what is able to be displayed in this forum.

If you see smut a lot you become desensitized too. YOu guys like that?
