hey guys im thinking should i get a bra for like long trips and such i mean i hate how they look but ive been thinking they will help for trips against rock chipping and such on my bumper and hood s*** maybe this is what there originally for?? i dont know but let me know what u think and how much do they usually go for?

I like the hood bras, the full ones protecting your plastic bumper? They look gay.

ne bra is gay ur info was so usefull yay for u

newayz im just thinking somthing that covers the bumper and like 1/4 of the hood or whatever just to protect from rocks chippin gon the express way

okay, we've established that they are "gay," but to get to the point:

no i don't like how they look either, but if you are going on a trip, or if you're having problems with your bumper/hood getting f'd up by rock chips, i say go for it...i'd rather look "gay" as DavidPrice said than have to pay for a paint job, but that's just me

it's not like you have to have it on every time you go out, but i'm not sure how difficult/easy they are to remove and reinstall...to answer your question, i say they're a good idea for long trips

wow that was long :)

i got one back in the day for my p5 that i use on occasion when i drove to NY (about twice a year)
last time i went i actually didn't use the bra and only used the hood section since that is the only part that seems to get messed up on long trips

hmmm so is it hard to install?? and about how much do they go for?

yes im not daily driving with the s*** lol. i am going to ky here soon prolly and then im goign southern florida soon as well just for these trips wonder if it would be a good idea thx for the useful info guys :)

I believe Mazda was selling them for around 80.

They're really tight and I think there's a couple people that inadvertantly scratched the paint by pulling so hard on the stupid thing.

One of the easiest ways to avoid rock chips that I use is to just stay back about 3 to 4 car lengths instead of the normal 1 to 2. And pass trucks and stuff very fast to get out of their angle of spray.

yes this is good advice and i try to do this as well i just trying to be a lil extra cautious maybe there will be some ppl on tomorrow that now more about it

that would suck scratching my paint trying to save my paint lol

yeah get it. my paint was chipped to hell after a trip to utah thanks to people swerving out of their lanes kicking up tons of debris

Damn, if you lived closer to Tampa, I'd cruise your way and give ya mine for like $20. That's where I'm head'n for the spring break next week. I used it one summer and put it back in the box. Doesn't really fit with you're using the Autoexe lip...unless of course you're just using the hood piece.

I bought and use the magnetic bra when I go on roadtrips. It only covers the front of the hood though.

If you really don't care how you look while on the trip, tape up the front of your hood with painter's tape. It's cheap, and won't damage the finish.

A friend of mine had one on her car, and I don't know if she did it wrong or if it was a bad brand but it left rust spots all around it. Granted you won't have it on that long, just a heads up

ahhh Well I wasn't sure 'cause I mapquested Ft. Walton Beach that is in your info and it came up West of Panama City...and we'll be on I-75 for roughly the entire trip...it looked far, unless I'm wrong or you don't live in Ft. Walton Beach. Either way, we can work something out if you're interested. I'd be leave'n Friday evening so I gotta know by then.
