Who ever said go-pros were worth 1/4 of a damn on pictures anyway? 0.o

Not what I meant. It was on the car so all the pictures people took of us has that stupid Go-Pro stuck on our windshield. The Go-Pro was a POS anyway. Took one video and then crapped out every other time Taylor tried using it. Even with fresh batteries, it would take 30 seconds of video and turn itself off.

Weird. They seem to be pretty hit or miss, if mostly hit. A lot of them work great (there's so much footage on TV taken with them now it's not even funny). The one my co-driver has works great on the Miata. But I see what you mean. You could have taken it off if it wasn't working.

are you trying to suggest it was user error?

Nope, only that some of them don't work as well as they should. Ours works fine. I've seen enough flaky ones to know that they can be, well, flaky. I'd call Go-Pro and return it for a replacement.

Definitely think it was just a flaky one. A friend of ours let us borrow it but he lost the instruction manual. So we might have been using it incorrectly *Cough*shut it, Jared*Cough* or it was just dying a slow death. The video footage we did get on it came out great. But once we hit the Dragon it just didn't want to cooperate. It's one of the first Go-Pro's that came out so..... (dunno)

technically the driver cant do much since he has to concentrate on the road.... soooo passenger error?
(peep)

(squinty)

It's hard to know if it is or isn't working when it's pointed away from you. Plus, there's no view finder so until you get back to a computer and review the footage, you don't really know. And like previously mentioned, our friend didn't have the instruction manual.

I was bummed b/c I've seen some great videos using Go-Pros. :(

Meh, there's always next time. :)

yeah i have heard both good and bad about go pro....for my money i would go with a contour HD

Their rollbar mount sucks (The GoPro has a really good one), but the Contour DOES have a picatinny rail mount :D

yeah most of contour's mounts suck (their mask strap mount blows) most people end up making their own solution. But what i have seen video of the contour is even better than higher priced systems and now with the GPS option its just awesome.

Holy crap Taylor...that yellow S2K at the top of the photos: ( 14822 Votes )

lol yeah...we kind of gave up on me because he pulled way ahead and now the challenge was him beating that stupid bronco at the bottom...which now has over 30k votes...
