Hi, Im trying to find a rims but I dont want 17" and 18" I just want 15 or if possible 16". Please post the pic of your protege or protege5 thats LOWERED w/ the rims and the rims specs...
Thank you...

i would go with 16s. i like the looks of 16s with meaty tires. 15s wont be any good to u. i dont think they can hold to wide of a tire.

Looks like they would rub. What offset and do you think I could get 15x7" slips to not rub with those tires (custom offset or otherwise)

Those are +40mm. Street driving, yes, they will rub. If you want tires that big for street, it will be tough. You'll need a high spring rate and not much lowering. Mine rubs a little on big bumps and with decent loads (like someone in the backseat). My spring rate is pretty high which helps, fenders are rolled, but I'm probably too low. I could raise the coilovers up but I'm lazy.

You could run a slightly higher offset, maybe +45mm, but I don't think you could get that tire inside the fender completely. You'll hit the strut first.

Ahh, thanks for the wisdom. I will probably run 215/50/15 then, since 215s definitely fit on my old 17x7 +45 wheels. On second thought, I recall the clearance from the strut being alarmingly tight even with that old setup.

P.S. did you happen to weigh that tire/rim setup? I want to get some 15" slips like yours.

No problem toucci. I can weigh a wheel this afternoon. My guess is... 34lbs. We'll see how close I am :D

Ah, almost! 36lbs via my super-scientific bathroom scale reading.

thanks! I weighed my stock wheels/tires and got 37 lbs, and 40 for my heavy 17s. Makes me wonder if going to 15s is really worth it (shrug)

Remember the Falken Azenis are a bit heavier than other tires in that size. IMO the 15's are worth it but it obviously won't look as good as 16's and 17's. My Autox wheels are ATS Complite 15x7 wheels 38 offset (which rubs in the rear unless you roll the fenders).

Totally worth it. The stockers are 16x6 with 195/50! 225/50/15 is a lot of tire and weighs a lot, but grips like a madman. Plus depending on the size of tire you get, you can get shorter or longer gearing if you want. And although it is barely lighter, the weight is closer to the center. Not sure how much of a noticeable difference it really is though :D
