Please help - Am I missing my air intake ?

Actually, found one on my computer. As you can see, I just removed all the plastic junk that only restricted air flow.

I can post a pic of my "intake" later, which is probably what most would recommend doing to a stock setup.

Well what kinda intake do you have? Because I have pleantly of pics too. The pic above is still with the air box but without the snorkle, I have pics with the snorkel installed and with my AEM SRI:)

With the snorkel removed I did get a few water spots in the under side of the air box and the filter(K&N) got dirty a hell of a lot faster but the top side of the air box was still clean as new so theres really no worries, just dont go flying through any deep water.

No worries of water here... I checked it myself, even after driving in the rain and mist the back of the headlight and air filter stayed dry:)

Yeah, thats almost how mine is in the first pic I posted. But I left the 2nd piece on there to help catch any water or anything, and I think it kinda helps hold up the air box? I cant remeber lol.

Yeah, it does help hold up the airbox, however, even without it the box is plenty secure due to the rubber "washers" on every bolt basically.

Your setup looks good. I simply could not justify getting an intake.

That's how mine was for a little bit. The OP needs to clean his engine bay... it looks disgusting.

Yeah, well if you dont have a header its quite wortheless. What good is more air in if you cant get it back out just as easy?

You would be surprised how long an engine bay stays clean once you clean it. I use simple green and a wet rag and go over everything by hand. Takes a long time sure, but it works. I suggest starting by using a wet rag and a mild detergent that is "safe" for paints on the underside of your hood and you will see the difference. You can decide if you want to keep cleaning after that.

What you've bought there is a "tweaked" protege. removing the little scop before it supposively helps with power or noise. Turn the little elbow sticking up to the left of the car to get even more cooler air. :- D
