Plan to buy Mazda3 Sport GS...

Hi,

Always liked Mazda's and considered one back in 2004 but went with Accord last moment because last 3rd had only 4 speed auto. Considering new Mazda3 GS now but read some bad feedback about its transmission. Want to hear from Mazda3 owners opinion regarding 3rd and particularly about gear box, is it really as unreliable as they say. I tend to keep my cars as long as it lasts, ideally 300K+ and I know that Honda's generally can live that long. Seeing quite a few Proteges around kind of reassuring. My alternative is CR-V as I need a wagon for snowboard/ski...

I have not problem with my '08 Mazda 3s GT Hatchback. Mine has an autotrans without any problems. I use Mobile 1 sythetic oil in it with atleast plus fuel. No regular fuel in mine. Also, mine hit 30k miles on it over a week ago.
