Pioneer AVIC-D3

has anyone put this in their car? if so how long does it take? can you do it yourself? where do you buy the parts to install it? sorry for all the questions but im looking at getting one and i want to order it friday(i get paid)

man....I am not sure if the discount is still around, but they had a 200 Mail in rebate a while back. One of my co-worker from newegg bought it and she loves it. We are all sold out though.

get the new alpine 7 inch, or the w205. waaaay better than the pioneer. i have the w205 myself with the blackbird navigation add on piece. its so awesome.

not sure if this is an avic d3 but it still looks sweet!

I am was looking into buying a avic d3 as well but i decided to hold off due to the price.

you were right about the kenwood im not sure exactly which 7 inch you were talking about but i can get the kenwood excelon DDX812 with ipod hook up shipped for 750$ i believe the website im ordering it from includes the install parts free. good deal or no?

the screen has an ajustable angle on it for viewing in the car...that way the bad glare wont be there

so i bought the kenwood execlon and decided to put it in myself but i cant even get that front piece of anyone around burnsville MN who could help me out or anyone who could just walk me through it iv put in a few stereos and taking it out is always harder then puting it in so once its out im confident i can get it back in

Not to say the W205 is bad... it's actually quite good! (though, after the nightmare that was the stock kenwood pos msp deck) I'd stay away from motorized units myself. Nevertheless... the price difference between the AVIC D3 (which comes with built in GPS) and the W205 (in which you have to buy the Blackbird portable in order to get GPS) is roughy $600.

Since I have an AVIC D3 I'm a bit biased... but can see the upside of owning the Alpine. (portability, real-time traffic, pulse touch screen technology etc.) But since the AVIC is more than capable (I F'in love it!) I'd stick with that as your primary choice... unless you've got money to burn.
