and yes, that's my autoexe rep lip sitting on the grass underneath my car...it's fine, just a little scratched up. just gotta repaint it and stick it back on!

dang i bet that was a hell of a ride for you, glad u alright, and the car not too badly damaged..could of been worse eh

glad to see that you and your car turned out okay (well...for the car, better than what it could've been). I've noticed that my car has some diffuculty in fresh wet roads too. stock tires? just wondering. hope everything works out!

yeah...after i pick up some winter tires next month, i'm going to be looking into getting some nice summer tires this coming spring. ones that will be able handle water...like tires should. might not be a bad idea for yourself. any suggestions anyone?

ever driven on the dunslops? i had a few close calls, saved only by the grace of god and the skills of the driver behind the steering wheel, but any one of those could have ended up like this. maybe some of it is driver skill, but id say most of it is the insufficent wet weather grip of the oem tires

Please don't blame the tires, blame the lack of skills behind the steering wheel.

if you ever ran a car on a acutal track you would know that better tires just cause false sense of security. You can really get in to trouble with them. Learn your chassis limits then slowly start upgrading. Kinda like if you been ******* a ugly chic all your life then suddenly you had a change to **** a maxim cover girl... you'd **** up and cum in 2secs. Gradually upgrading will allow yer skill level to adjust to them. Also by learning the chassis you will know how much over and under steer to dial in.

I'm gonna ditch these POS tires after this season...I had to drive cross country a month ago, so I figured I'd keep the stock tires on for the drive so I don't have to waste the rubber on some new tires...

As for tire suggestions, check out this thread:

i agree with you on this point, but its irrelevant. an unexperienced driver sees the better tire as a crutch, the more experienced driver uses it, and learns its limits on the fly. i went from my first gen, which i autox'ed avidly to the p5, which i have autocrossed 2 or 3 times now, and have upgraded accordingly. However, this argument isnt about driver skill, upgrades etc, its about the far below acceptable performance of the dunlops in the rain. ive driven on rcomp hoosiers in 3 inches of rain and had more traction than the dunlops provide

subaru bitches blame every accident on the RE92's. long as you learn the limits of the tires you shouldn't be over driving them. Need to learn car control before upgrading. take some track time, its well worth the 300dollars.

thats just it, the limits change every time it rains. they are unpredictable, they are too slippery, and they just dont have good traction. now in the dry they are decent x 2

uhm...... don't drive like a maniac in the rain??? I learned more car control in the wet track/autox then dry. You can acutally counter act and avoid spining out by simple thottle and brake moduation.
