Pic request: 5s on Miata 16 or 17 wheels

Anyone is rolling on Miata rims?

I did search but could not find any photos.

I found the opposite... A Miata with Mazda5 rims...

Also, how much would you pay for a set of used 2009-2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata 16" rims (64924)?

Oops, gross vehicular weight just came to my mind. The Miata is a lot lighter car.

3,457 lbs vs. 2,511 lbs

Would this be a problem? Or can I still use Miata rims with my 5?

I am sure you'll be fine but idk for sure. I know phunky.buddha has 17" Miata wheels on his MZ5 and I haven't heard him say there's any problems. Come to think...I haven't seen any posts from him either. Anyone know what's up with him?

1st gen is the only one I've seen in the wheel fitment thread. Mx-5 wheels are lighter but it be a problem for the Mazda5. Fuel mileage should increase because I think it is 6lb lighter per corner.

So what is a fair price for a set of 16s?

For sale locally, the guy is asking $550 (canadian, around USD $500 )

Price seem good but they are 2009... 5 years of use? In other circumstances I would rather go for new aftermarket that 5 year-old OEM... They look good for 2009... Probably low mileage... what do you guys think?

The blue car you posted is my friend Ryan's, from Boston. He posts on Miata.net.

I have seen few Miata wheels on 5. No issues. Also Miata wheels are dirt cheap, people can't give it away (owner of 9 miatas, all generation, so I am aware).

I am think I will just go and buy aftermarket Kosei rims, as per my original plan... at least they will be brand new...

I would advise you seriously to have him meet you at a tire shop like discount or NTB ect. Pay to have them spun @ around $7 each to be sure that they are true. I learned my lesson. A guy was selling 3 RX8 wheels, had them spun and found 2 to be true and the third, not so much. So I bought the 2 from him. Previously, I'd bought a set off ebay and only after having them blasted, coated, new tires and mounted did I notice one went in and out like the previous owner slid sideways into a curb. Lesson learned.
