okay after much waiting and getting parts, finally things are gonna happen. Heres how:

phase1: body parts painted and put on.
These would include, 3.5 bumper and lip, eyelids
Then in about 3 weeks my rims/tires will hopefully
go on depending on weather. Also, painting my
rear valence, hopefully i can leave the car in the
paint shop my buddy has for a weekend so it can
dry.

but the body parts are happening now, buying paint tomorrow, and heres the story on that!

so turns out my discount on the paint isnt that much anymore :/ but i get a full quart of single stage paint a.k.a color/clearcoat for 130$ which is still a pretty good deal. HOWEVER, i also am getting it pre paintmatched. My guy tells his guy at the paint shop the year of the car, and if it was parked outside or inside and he has a program that guess how much to dilute the pigment!!! friggin' sweet!!! my guy is a cowork of mine and he also has a full heated paint shop. He said he can paint all my parts THIS SUNDAY, just has to triple check with the wife nothing important is going on. I asked if we wanted me to sand or anything, and he said "nah youll just f#*% it up and i'll have to fix it ahahahaha!" so hes doing everything for me! All i have to do is pay for the paint and buy him some whiskey! man i love living in the country of wisconsin, ppl take alcohol as payment!

pics to come! stay tuned

And get progress pics. Did you ever get the pic with all your parts laid out?

Tylor

haha its yellow!, and i will get a pic of all the parts laid out soon, unfortunatly not the body pieces though cause those are going out tomorrow!

oh lol and i got the video taken of my car with the mid pipe
its one of those "four inches away from the exhaust stepping on the gas a little" videos haha
ill edit it into this post once i get it uploaded onto photobucket

edit: OK so here is the video, and i did a little tour thing before the actual exhaust video and that was the best exhaust clip out of all 5 trys i did so.....ur gonn have to sit thru that lol

nice, not bad, not bad. But how does it sound in the cabin at highway speeds? HOWEVER, i just talked to a local exhaust shop and for the low low price of $250 i can get a j-pipe back 3' exhaust! I have to get my own cat/resonator/muffler but i like picking my own out anyway. So im pretty sure thats what im gonna go with!

BUILD UPDATE:
body parts are at friends paint shop and are being painted on sunday!

when i was putting the parts in my car this morning i noticed a chunk of paint missing on rear passenger wheel well!!! WTF RUST!!! so i got some quotes for that. Luckily my old neighbor that i grew up next to has a shop and again i get the hook up. He will blast it off, sand it, paint and blend it for $175!!! Well i was at it i asked him if he could put on my new bumper cause i broke who knows what clips etc. hardware from my accident, so he will put on my new bumper and fix most of the broken tabs/clips for $100!!!

so in conculsion

full 3'' exhaust= $250+ cat/resonator/muffler
fix rust/install front end= $275

wow 250? thats a really good deal for a 3in. and 60-65mph u can hear it with the music on but its not annoyingly loud, i havent really took it up to 70 or 75 yet so i cant tell u if it drones or not

and man i wish i had the hookup like u, cuz those are some incredible prices ur getting lol

yeah, im friggin lucky! except for the rust! gawd that sucks! here are some pics...

woa! im glad i dont live where it snows alot
all that salt would kill my car, that sucks tho rust always spoils everything lol

Thats weak little surface rust...How did the paint get chipped up?

thats the thing! yesterday the paint was fine, just a little bubble to tell me that rust was starting, then as i said, i went to put the parts in my car this morning and bam! no more paint, it was on the ground next to my car, but i shoveled it away ;)

Oh..the rust formed under it and caused it to lift.
Hmm...That'll be fun to blend in.

yeah thats what i thought, but heck idk.

Question about the 3.5 msp lip: Do i have to take off the bumper to istall it? or..... also i have g3 fog light brackets so i can keep my fogs ;) im guessing i have to remove the bumper for that one right?

so do you use the stock fog light bolts to bolt the msp lip to the bumper? or was the lip supposed to come with new screws?

Your new factory lip should have had a bag of hardware inside the Sock it came in to install it.
