Perfect Power SMT-6

Sounds like it has the potential to be another great Protege EMS solution!

This last year has seen the engine managment and tuning potential for the Protege totally take off. Good things come to those who wait. :D

This would be interesting. But I wonder if its worth it due to the fact that you'll need a voltage clamp ($100+), and then a way to fix the timing problems.

You just need the clamp, and Nick already delivers it with the MPI tunner.

If you really want the SMT, get it from Nick. He already has the wirings and voltage settings/software that works on the proteges.

Nick wants $799 for the unit. For that price he can keep it. I can get it for $300, plus I will post the maps. {Plus I already have the clamp.

Plus, the guy that is working on the project is very experienced in this type of stuff. His work is well known, and everyone trusts him. Im sure Ill be ok. I will keep you guys posted. I should have the new intake mani out of the engine by WED. And the Injectors and fuel rail by end of next week.

Mark is 3 weeks behind, so Ill be getting everything ready before he gets the wagon.

I hope all this works out for you. Keep in mind that hardware and software was changed on the MPI to make it work with our Proteges.

Thats what I told him...Our MPI is a unit modified for the protege. Meaning that some voltage parameters (receivers and senders) had to be modified in both forms; software and hardware.

For example:

1. Check what voltage runs the MAF and find the wire that runs that range on the SMT.
2. Same with the O2 receiver, AIT sensor...

And the MPi is less than $1000 too.

Thats just for unit. The setup im getting is complete.. Dyno, tune, labor, calibration.

I just dont see the point. You can install the MPI tuner by yourself in under 2 hours. You have a ton of maps already available on this forum to start you off with.

Chris

Look at all the work that will be done
Intake mani
Fuel rail w/4 injectors
Clutch install
Tuning
installing
moddifying
testing
fuel pump install
and the EMS

How does that compare to a little machine, 2hrs install and only good for 8psi for $800???????? Am I missing something here???
