LinuxRacr said:Well, I tried to get it working with DOS last night, with no luck. When I connected it up, and fired up the DOS software, I would get a comm error. I then proceded to do the LF FIRST command, and the values would show up in the software. After that, I had no control of my software. I just about believe I have a fubar unit. :'(
That is great news Patrick. Now dump the DOS program, it sucks. The windows program works much better. Your ME Windows will work fine for you. We have been working on a Mazda/PRS piggyback for a while now.LinuxRacr said:Ok, I was successful in getting the PRS8 communicating with the Windows software.Looking at the menu, it looks like I have hardware version 36.
This is what the running conditions said:
Type: 8
Version: 36

I wonder if this version will work with my ignition system?

I will send you all of the info you need to get it going over the weekend. Wait untill you start tuning the unit. It does more then most aftermarket system out there. The cost is also well under what most systems are.
Thanks again

LinuxRacr said:Can't wait to see wait to start tuning this thing.I think I will get the boost control solenoid, and the Lamda sensor for this PRS8. It does self-tuning like the AEM. I wonder if it can take the output from my TechEdge Wideband instead?
They are both Wide band sensors. The Dyno and the LM1 better be reading the same or else you have a placement issue.MPNick said:Both the PRS8 and the MPI Tuner are calibrated from Perfect Power with the Bosch LM1 O2 sensor. What type of sensor does the TechEdge unit use? The cost of the sensor is around $200.00-$250.00. I have tuned with this sensor and have compared on the dyno with a Wideband sensor. They are spot on. The boost control soleniod we have in stock all of the time.
Like I said before wait until you start tuning this system. You will find that it does just about anything. Plus we sell them for about $500.00 less then the AEM.
Thanks again

Yes you do get what you pay for. Some people think with the AEM you pay to much for the same control you have with the Perfect Power at $500.00 less.perfworks said:They are both Wide band sensors. The Dyno and the LM1 better be reading the same or else you have a placement issue.
The PP units are not comparible with the AEM. You get what you pay for.
