Intakes dont hold boost. A diffrent BPV or boost controller will.
I think your right. When I was switching my dual port bov from 50/50 to full recirculated, I decided to put the stock one back on just for the hell of it and car ran great. All I could here was the SRI. Then I reinstall turbosmart and the suction noise from the SRI got way louder very noticeable. I think this shows that turbosmart does holds boost better than the stock bpv. This is something you guys with stock bpvs do to see if your bpv is leaking. Of course if you can get an aftermarket bov/bpv to try it with. Thoughts?
When running the stock BPV, my max boost, as displayed on the Dashhawk, was in the neighborhood of 13.3-13.6 psi. By simply installing a Forge BPV, max boost jumped to over 16 psi, and I regularly see mid to high 15's.
So, yes, it makes perfect sense that you'd hear more intake noise with an aftermarket BPV, since the turbo will be sucking so much harder. (nana)
Where on the DH do you monitor for max boost. Is it "vac/boost"? If so then at steady speed I see 16.xx. To the OP get an after market bov/bpv and join the 16psi club lol.
