I am having a little issue with my factory car alarm. Every time it arms, the parking lights stay on. I have to pull the fuse for the alarm so that the lights turn off. Not sure if anyone has had this issue?????

The alarm on the car is a variant of Code Alarm. You have to find the wire that controls the park light and cut it. I had that same problem. I plan on replacing my unit. You cannot disconnect the unit it controls the egnition.

Try arming it twice with the key fob. That worked for me when I had the same problem. After a while it went back to working when arming it once.

Tried it all. Nothing seems to work. Looks like I will have to replace the unit.

I stopped using mine for a week or so and then armed it twice and it worked. Its been working fine ever since for over a year since then. It is a funky unit though. Look in your manual for the location of the overide button if you still have not gotten it to start.

To remove the unit- go to your ignition switch. There is a pigtail used so they didn't hack the factory harness. Remove that pigtail and plug the main harness directly onto the switch. Then you can remove the box and all associated wiring.

I wish the previous owner knew that... whoever it was removed the pigtail off the box with two wires and bypassed the box by tieing the two wires together... So now I have to get a new pig tail harness and rewire like it was meant to be. I have the box I think it might be junk more then likely.

Edit: Anyone know how much that box is new? Or is they ever corrected the issue with those boxes
