i was thinking about changing my interior color by painting/dying it with duplicolor vinyl and fabric spray dye. i was wondering if anyone has used it and if so how it has held up?

yup ive used it and its held up fine.. only the things u touch, steering wheel, shift cover thing are a lil scratched up but the paint is pretty good... just remember if u do this do it in steps took me like 2 weeks to finish mine. the hardest part is masking things u dont want to paint (windows) take a look at my cardomain u can see my car. it was brown before now its fully black inside.

haha well i like the badge :P got it cuz i got the bumble bee interior goin on. ohhh dats a dash cover i got it cuz when i painted ma car i painted the whole dash glossy black, so if its real sunny der was mad glare i was like literally squintin lol. So i just decided to get a cover, its pretty good tho 0 glare now and it blocks out reflective heat.

yeaa dub had like a p5 and mp3 swap and painted interior i tink?

He went thru several progressions and mishaps before he decided to go with a legit MP3 swap I believe. It turned out really well...

yup i remember his thread i tink im pretty sure thats wat he said. neways in ma case just fyi. i masked all d parts i didnt wanna paint, the chrome pieces, belt buckles, and the windows i put newspaper and masked. then sprayed everytin else black. The dash and door panels i sprayed glossy and the seats i sprayed flat black. If ur still reading this i had several mishaps too at the beginning i just wanted to paint some of it black and the rest yellow but it didnt end up workin well so i just repainted some things i painted in yellow black and it worked out to wat it is now. Ill post pics if ppl are interested.

i talked to dub i know he painted his but he said he had some trouble but i heard of other people that had success. i was deciding if i should paint or replace some things because i dont really have the money to do the whole interior swap. what brand of dye paint did you use?

dont paint it. just do it the right way... look for part outs and such.. i swapped all of my stuff LOOONG before dub did.. lol.

i used duplicolor vinyl paint. if ur gonna paint i recommend u get a couple masks, painters tape, newspaper (large areas) and fine sandpaper like 200 grit plus but dont rough it up too much just skim d surface. u dont need primer just do that and u should be good. oh and ALOT OF PATIENCE

I vote against painting the interior. Accents are fine, but doing the whole interior looks horrible. Especially if the paint used is glossy. Just thinking about having a shiny, textured interior gives me the chills. Sorry, just my opinion.

definatly don't paint! i've done it both ways and if you dye it right it looks like it came from the factory like that. choose your pieces and colors wisely and remove them to spray. i used a paint gun and had the dye in cans like you would if you were buying paint for the car. nothing good ever comes from a spray can

yeah im actually talking about the duplicolor vinyl dye but some refer to it as paint, i was thinking of using the aerosol can but if i can i am going to buy it to use in a spray gun, the parts would be removed from car when painting also. it would be satin charcoal gray or whatever proteges came with i bought the center console but was going to dye everything else pretty much, im still considering which to do because its about 50/50 from responses.
