P5 rims/tires

I would like to get rid of my stock rims. I need some help from you all before purchasing new ones.

- What are some of the consideration I need to think about when purchasing new rims for my p5?
- Does changing the rims dimensions have any effects on the car? Performance, speed odometer, gas mileage, handling, etc?
- What rims and tires sizes combination have worked good for you guys? I would like rims that can take more common size tires then the stock rims.
- Online stores that have competitive prices?

Any other helpful tips that you all have found along the way would be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah generally speaking the bigger the wheel the worse off your Gas Mileage will be but in my opinion i think the 17 inch MP3 Racing Hart 5 star rims are the best choice for our P5"s It wont hurt the Gas mileage that much i get 25 MPG. And for Tire sizes i would go with 245/40/R17 that"s what i have on my car and it works great and looks awesome!

I'm running the stock MSP wheels on the P5. They look good, but man are they heavy. 17" look about right on the car, but 16" isn't bad. If you're going aftermarket you might try to find something really lightweight. Tirerack has a sort by weight option that's really useful for this. The lighter the weight, the better the performance.

You've got tons of choices when buying new wheels and tires - do LOTS of research beforehand.

Generally, larger diameter wheels are heavier, and heavier wheels will hurt every aspect of performance on your vehicle - acceleration, braking, handling, and fuel mileage. Going with an extremely lightweight wheel will increase your car's performance in all those areas.

Any change in the overall diameter of your tires will change the accuracy of your speedometer.

A wider wheel and tire will increase your cornering capabilities, but your tire clearance is limited by the car's bodywork. Wheels with the correct offset are critical if you are running wider wheels/tires.
